It was indeed a carnival of sort as Chief Robert Nwoye of Umuatuora village, Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria was inducted into the reverred and prestigious Ozonkpu Enugwu Ukwu na Umunri.
The cultural ceremony held at the country home of Chief and Nono Robert Nwoye attracted people from all walks of life, members of Ozonkpu Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, relatives, friends and associates from far and near.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chairman, Ozonkpu Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, Ozonkpu Innocent Nnoli stated that the title is reserved for reputable personalities who are above board and have distinguished themselves in community service, adding that members of the association are known to be honest, hardworking and promoters of peace and unity in Enugwu-Ukwu town.
The solemn process of induction, initiation, and decoration of the newest Ozonkpu followed, amidst jubilation by the spectators.
Responding, Ozonkpu Akwuechenyi Robert Nwoye described his new title as worthy of his personality trait, having contributed his quota in community development, assisting the poor and the vulnerable persons in his town and beyond to have a better life.
He paid tribute to his beloved wife, Nono Dibugwu Obianuju Nwoye, nee Akah from Ezinifite Aguata who has stood by him through thick and thin, and prayed God to continue to guide and protect their union.
On her part, the wife of Ozonkpu Akwuechenyi, Nono Ugodiya Obianuju Nwoye expressed joy for her husband whom she described as a gift from God to her, praying God to keep him in good health and long life.
The event featured oath taking, induction, egwu ota dance and masquerade displays.
