The immediate Past Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sir Norbert Obi on Thursday June 1, 2023 handed over officially to his successor, Barr. Ifeatu Obi-Okoye at the state secretariat, Agu-Awka.
Obi expressed delight with the emergence of Obi-Okoye as the new helmsman of APGA in Anambra State, stating that he is sure that his successor would bring his wealth of experience to bear in the administration of the party in the state.
Obi, who described Obi-Okoye as a field marshal, veteran and a grassrooted politician, noted that he had no doubt that the new Chairman and other State Working Committee (SWC) members would perform creditably well, urging the new exco to make probity, diligence, sincerity and accountability their watch-word.
Obi prayed for God’s guidance and protection upon his successor and his team, saying that he would not be surprised to see APGA under Obi-Okoye moved 100 times higher than it was today.
Responding the new State Chairman, Chief Obi-Okoye thanked Sir Norbert Obi for the confidence reposed in him and his executive members, promising that they would not disappoint, emphasizing that he was not unaware of the huge responsibility before them.
Obi-Okoye called for strong support from the party faithful, assuring that with God on their side they would do exploits, even as he welcomed partnership, collaboration, useful suggestions and genuine support.
‘I am happy with what I saw on ground. With these items we will hit the ground running. This administration will not fail anyone who believes in us. We are going to go out there and make our party members proud. There’s no time to waste. Expectations are high and we are not expected to fail our party. All hands on deck,’ Obi-Okoye said.
