Peace Gradually Returns In Isuaniocha Community Five Years After Crises

Relative peace is gradually returning to Isuaniocha community In Awka North local government area of Anambra state.

Some women groups in their excitement while
donating food items such as rice, garri,dry fish, ogbono, egusi, tin tomatoes, maggi, among other food condiments to some security agents who were in the town for peace keeping mission, expressed some releave.

According to their spokesperson Mrs. Alice Chukwukeluo, the women have been living in fear and tears following the crisis that erupted in the community five years ago leaving many people dead and houses destroyed.

Chukwukeluo however noted that the moves so far made by the Onyeagolu family to return peace to the community was a welcome development,hence their decision to donate food items for the upkeep of those involved in the process.

Another group of women, Concerned Women of Isuaniocha, led by Mrs Chinyere Nweke also stormed the place with food items while singing victory songs of peace and joy.

Nweke said despite the fact that the Onyeagolu family of Otoko village, and few others were at the receiving end of the crises as their residential houses were destroyed, the women commend them for embracing peace five years after they were chased out of the town.

Receiving the items from the women, a community leader, Chief Paulynus Onyeagolu described peace as a panacea to development of every town hence the victims of the crises destruction decided to go for it bearing the brunt of the damages done to their houses and means of livelihood.
