Pentecostal Bishops In Anambra Call For Release Of Nnamdi Kanu

The Pentecostal Bishops Association, Anambra State Incorporated (PBAAS), has charged President Bola Tinubu to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, unconditionally and correct the imbalance in Nigeria’s polity.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the religious leaders made the appeal during the 2026 Annual Convocation of the Pentecostal Bishops Association held at Church in Power, Agu Awka, and delivered by the Executive President of the Association, Bishop Prince Augustine Nwodika.

The bishops in a communiqué stated that the imbalance in the polity has aggravated agitations from the South East and, in the spirit of equity, fairness, and socio-economic balance in the system, noted that such measures would significantly improve the much-needed peace and security in the South East.

The communiqué encouraged the Church to remain a shining light in a dark world and to be strong in faith, especially at a time like this, because it is only faith in Christ that can overcome the challenges in the world.

They congratulated the Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, on his electoral victory for a second tenure, pointing out that he touched all sectors of the state’s economy during his first term, and encouraged him that, come 17th March 2026, when the second tenure will commence, he should align with his Solution mantra and transformational agenda, expand his coast, and do more work for Ndi Anambra in fulfilling his vision and mission of a livable and prosperous homeland.
