Peter Obi Cautions Unruly ‘Obidients’ Who Abuses Top Personalities

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last election, Peter Obi has cautions some of his ‘Obidients’ supporters who abuses top personalities.

A recent event was that of Adeboye, General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) who had come under heavy criticism for declaring that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, can fix Nigeria with God’s help.

The supporters of Peter Obi were of the view that the General Overseer have always been quite about the mayhem caused by the All Progressive Congress (APC), due to his relationship with the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and the incoming First Lady, Remi Tinubu, of which both are senior pastors of his church.

But Obi, in tweets on Wednesday said the of subterfuge by people masquerading as Obidients to abuse and insult eminent personalities like Adeboye or anyone else is most unacceptable.

He tweeted: “The use of subterfuge by people masquerading as Obidients to abuse and insult eminent personalities like Most Reverend Pastor Enoch Adeboye or anyone else is most unacceptable. Obidients are by and large, law-abiding citizens.

“While differences of opinion are normal, calculated efforts to create ethnic or religious chasm all in the name of politics should not in any way be tolerated. As a person, I eschew name-calling, insults, and abuses, likewise most of my supporters.

“The suggestion that some in the fringes engage in such conduct casually overlooks the fact that the political opposition deploys such methods to gain undue advantage and create confusion and bad blood,.”
