Plastic Waste Recyclers Association Supports Soludo For Second Term

…Applauds His Revolutionary Policies on Waste Management, Circular Economy, and Environmental Sustainability

The Peace and Unity Plastic Waste Recyclers Association has formally supported Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for a second term in office.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Association, a key stakeholder in Anambra State’s waste management and recycling industry, in their rally of endorsement, expressed a deep sense of gratitude to the Governor for his forward-thinking policies on waste recycling, circular economy, and environmental sustainability that have directly empowered the recyclers, improved livelihood, and encouraged business undertakings in the whole state.

Speaking on the occasion, the Association’s Chairman, Mr. Ukwuegbu Chigozie lauded Governor Soludo for creating a conducive business environment that enables recyclers and waste managers to thrive.

The Chairman maintained that with promotion of waste management, recycling, and plastic recovery, some of its members had recorded tangible economic gains while creating a positive impact towards environmental preservation.

Mr. Ugwuegbu also begged the state government to take a planned area as a Waste Recycling Village or Hub, which will be a location where actors in the industry will converge, innovate, and upscale their recycling enterprises.

In his own words, “with PET bottles, plastics, and other recyclables, our members have not only reduced waste pollution but have also played a vital role in strengthening the economy and keeping Anambra clean.”

In his speech, the Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Felix Odimegwu, acting on behalf of the state government, was greatly elated at the public pronouncement of the association being in solidarity with Governor Soludo.

Dr. Odimegwu commended their effort as critical stakeholders in pushing the Solution Agenda on circular economy and waste conversion.

Dr. Odimegwu also asked them to sustain the momentum by voting in large numbers for APGA and Governor Soludo during the coming November 8th election, assuring them that the government would always give preference to their business interests and well-being.

The Commissioner also urged them to continue to keep close liaison with the Ministry of Environment and its parastatals in a bid to sustain the ease of doing business and environmental compliance across the state.
