Plenary: Anambra Appropration Bill 2025, Passes Second Reading

A bill for a law to provide for the sum of 606, 991, 849, 118, 16 (Six hundred and six billion, nine hundred and ninty-one million, eight hundred and fourty nine thousand, one hundred and eighteen naira sixteen kobo) for services of the government of Anambra state for the year ending 31st December 2025 and for related purposes has pass through second reading.

The Majority Leader and member representing Ekwusigo Constituency Hon Ikenna Ofodeme while leading the debate
said the bill is realistic and as lawmakers they are duty bound to inter-face with agencies and ministries at the committee stage in order to make the executive achieve its aim.

Supporting the motion, Hon. Golden Iloh (Ihiala two), Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke (Aguata One), Hon. Emma Nwafor (Orumba South), Hon. Obi Nweke (Anambra East) and Hon. Tony Muobike (Aguata two) in their separate submissions commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for presenting the budget.

” As lawmakers, it is our duty to scrutinize the budget, and ensure that every kobo allocated to each MDA’s serves its purpose.

‘We commend Governor Chukwuma Soludo for prioritizing critical sectors. It shows his readiness to work.

” The budget is an embodiment of what the governor intends to do for ndi Anambra.

“There will be a massive growth when this budget will be implemented” the lawmakers said.

Anambra Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze referred the bill
to the committee on Finane and Appropriation Chaired by Hon. Ejike Okechukwu. The committee is to report back in three weeks time.
