Anambra State house of assembly at their last plenary, confirmed 21 Transition Committee Chairmen for another three months as stated by law with effect from 3rd May, 2023.
Anambra Speaker Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor before admitting the TC Chairmen into plenary, read the letter from the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, forwarding the names of the TC Chairmen for confirmation.
Okafor, while congratulating the chairmen on the renewal of their tenure, urged them to contribute their quota to the development of the state. He reminded them that their appointment was a call to duty and service to the people.
“I am happy that all of you returned. Keep on doing the good works. It is very important to always partner with the lawmaker representing your consituency. We will all work together. Let’s collaborate in achieving the vision of Governor Soludo” Okafor submitted.
ANN recalls that on the 19th of July 2020, Soludo forwarded the names of the nominees to serve as the 21 TC Chairmen to the Anambra Assembly for consideration and confirmation for them to serve for three months as stated by law.
In a vote of thanks, the TC Chairman of Oyi LGA expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for the consideration and confirmation. He assured the legislators that they would do everything within their powers to make sure that Soludo achieves his mission and vision.
Speaking with ANN in an interview, the TC Chairman of Ekwusigo LGA, Hon. Chigozie Obi stated that considering the challenges faced especially on security, the state government led by Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is winning the battle.
“Despite the limited resources available, three major roads are currently under construction in Ekwusigo LGA and I believe that the governor will still do some more. The abandoned Secretariat in Ekwusigo since 2002, is near completion.”
Also speaking in an interview, the TC Chairman of Orumba South LGA, Prince SN Uchendu maintained that the present administration was committed to transforming the state. He called on individuals to join hands by contributing to the development of the state through bringing back their wealth home.
The mayor assured his LGA that he would not let them down as the TC Chairman. He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the roads currently under construction amongst other projects from Anambra state government.
