A bill for a law to establish the “Anambra State Rural Access Roads Development Agency (ASRARA) Bill 2026”, has scaled through first reading.
The bill is established for the purpose of overhaul and management of reconstruction and maintenance of Class C and Class D roads in Anambra State.
The bill sponsored by the Majority Leader, Sir. Ikenna Ofodeme, aims to improve rural access, transport infrastructure, agricultural marketing, and to make provisions for connected matters.
At plenary on Thursday, the Majority Leader, Sir. Ofodeme also sponsored and presented “Anambra State Roads Fund Board (ASRFB) Bill 2026.
The bill which is for planning, development, rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance of class C and Class D roads in Anambra State and connected purposes.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon Somtochukwu Udeze who presided plenary, while commending the lawmakers for their diligence, reiterated that the 8th Assembly remains focused on enacting laws that offer direct economic benefits to the grassroots.
