Anambra House of Assembly has screened and confirmed members of the State Judicial Service Commission on Tuesday at plenary.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the Chairman House Committee on Screening and Election Matters, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye while speaking said the nominees; Dr. Mrs. Ifeyinwa Obegolu, Hon. Dr. Ben Nwankwo and Hon Victor Ezeoke are reputable figures with impressive records.
Rt. Hon. Okoye who is also the Deputy Speaker stated that the three nominers have been committed and have also contributed immensely to the development of Anambra State.
The Deputy Speaker urged the House to confirm them stating that their history of service, character and competency speaks volume.
Anambra Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze while congratulating the Judicial Service Commission members stated that the state needs their services because of their pedigree and track records.
“Serving Anambra State in this capacity will enhence the Judicial system. We will always want to partner with you in strengthening the Judiciary.
“Anytime you need our collaboration, the 8th assemble is always ready to partner with you. I wish you all a fulfilled tenure”. Udeze said.
In a vote of times, Dr. Mrs. Ifeyinwa Obegolu expressed appreciation to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for finding them worthy to serve ndi Anambra, stating that they will leave up to expectations.
Speaking in an interview with House Correspondents, Dr. Ben Nwankwo said its time to put into practice the experience gathered so far.
” The expectations are high in other to make sure that the Judicial systems performs better by supporting the disruptive change of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
“We will bring some innovation into the system especially on updating the human resources capital and streamlining the appointments and promotions”.
