The Anambra State House of Assembly has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim, on their successful inauguration for a second term in office.
The 8th Assembly at plenary presided by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze through a resolution commended Soludo and Ibezim for giant strides in the last four years.
Sponsor of the motion, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke, who is the lawmaker representing Aguata one constituency noted that the Prof. Soludo and his Deputy Dr. Ibezim were inaugurated for their second term on March 17, 2026, following what he described as overwhelming support from Ndi Anambra, who re-elected the administration with over 73 percent of the total votes cast.
Hon. Okpalaeke observed that the first tenure of the Soludo-led administration was marked by what he described as unprecedented and transformative achievements across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
Okpalaeke highlighted massive infrastructural development, reforms in the economic sector, improvements in healthcare and education, as well as youth empowerment initiatives such as the “One Youth, Two Skills” programme and the Solution Innovation District.
“Governor Soludo is committed to transforming Anambra State from being a destination rather than departure lounge, thus fulfilling his promise of making Anambra State a samart maga city.
“Thanking Prof. Soludo for the rare
achievements recorded in his first tenure would only motivate him to do more, thereby making Anambra State the promised African DubaiTaiwan Silicon Valley”. Okpalaeke submitted.
In their separate congratulatory speeches, Ebuka Igwe (Idemili South), Golden Iloh (Ihiala 2), Bernard Udemezue (Ayamelum), Nonso Atuchukwu (Nnewi South 2), Ejike Okechukwu (Anaocha 2), Majority Leader, Ikenna Ofodeme (Ekwusigo), Chief Whip Chimezie Ngobili (Ihiala One), Tony Muobike (Aguata 2), Chidi Ibemeka (Njikoka one), Augustine Ike (Nnewi North) and the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye (Awka South 2) commended Prof. Soludo for his visionary leadership and expressed optimism that the second term would witness more impactful governance.
The lawmakers described the Governor’s performance in his first term as people-oriented, noting that the administration has laid a solid foundation for sustainable development in the state.

the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, in his remark, commended Okpalaeke for sponsoring the motion.
Udeze expressed confidence that Governor Soludo’s second term would consolidate on the gains already made and urged the executive arm to sustain its development drive for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.
