The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the rescue and safe return of a kidnapped victim at Umuege Village, Amawbia, Awka and has debriefed the victim for necessary action.
Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that
this is following a hot chase and strategic positioning of Police Operatives attached to the Central Police Station Awka, on the receipt of information about the abduction of the victim
According to the Spokesperson of
Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, this made the criminals operating in an unmarked Sienna vehicle to abandon the victim in Umunya along Enugu/Onitsha Expressway and fled the scene.
To this end, the Commissioner of Police has directed a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Further developments would be communicated accordingly .
