The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command, CP. Ikioye Orutugu has reiterated the Command’s commitment to restoring lasting peace and security in the State.

CP. Orutugu also urged residents, especially community leaders and youth groups, to support ongoing efforts by exposing criminal elements operating under the guise of self-government agitation.
This appeal comes amid recent intelligence reports indicating that criminals now take advantage of the separatist sentiments to perpetrate violent crimes, including extortion, abduction, and targeted attacks on innocent citizens.
The CP acknowledges the State’s historical pride of being peaceful, tolerant, innovative, industrious, and entrepreneurial. He therefore underscores the need for residents to help distinguish between legitimate advocacy and the activities of those exploiting unrest for personal gain.
