Anambra Assembly plenary on Thursday kicked off with an opening prayer by the honorable speaker Uche Okafor, he welcomed everyone present at the plenary.
Recall that Angel Network News had reported that Anambra Assembly summons commissioner for education over disengagement of employed teacher’s and to also explain current recruitment processes which was termed not conforming with due process.
Commissioner for education Professor Ngozi Chuma Udeh appeared before the Anambra Assembly but due to recent findings and other information emanating from the State, Anambra Assembly through the speaker honorable Uche Okafor announced that the house can not entertain the honorable commissioner today.
He stressed that Anambra State assembly will do some enquiry in regards to the information reaching the Anambra State house of assembly before interrogating the commissioner for education.
Due to the recent developments the commissioner for education Professor Ngozi Chuma Udeh was rescheduled for another day which will be communicated to her.
Meanwhile Angel Network News also reported earlier this week that Anambra Assembly invites heads of local government and accountant of local government for checking.
Commissioner for local government, Chieftaincy and community affairs Mr Collins Anthony Nwabunwanne in a letter sent to Anambra Assembly pleads with the honorable members that the heads of local government were barely 1 month in office and are carrying out their civil functions and as such needs time for an effective meeting.
He said that the invitation by the house of assembly got to his office very late and is very late to get across the local governments in Anambra State, he pleads with the house to reschedule the invitation for future date.
An announcement by the deputy chairman house committee on finance and appropriation bill honorable Nonso Smart Okafor reads that the timetable scheduled for budget defense is out and it will kick off on the 29th of June 2022.
Anambra Assembly encourages all ministry agency and department to turn out for the defense to enable the house carry out this constitutional duty.
Anambra Assembly plenary was adjourned to the 14th day of July.
