The member representing Orumber South constituency Hon. Emmanuel Nwafor says the 8th Anambra State house of assembly We will make sure that the standard of the roads quoted in their designs are been maintained and that any contractors that is not performing will have the job revoked.
Hon. Nwfor who is the Anambra Assembly Chairman House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, in an exclusive interview with ANN in Awka said more than 200 kilometers of road are on-going and most of them have received part payment. With twenty years road stardard.
The lawmaker who is also an engineer maintained that his committee will commence over-sight function and supervise the on-going road projects. We want to make sure that what Governor Chukwuma Soludo planed for ndi Anambra is all working out.
In his words, ‘The Governor is doing much for ndi Anambra. In his inaugural speech, he stated clearly that he came for disruptive change. He has started it and has already declared state of emergency on Anambra roads.
” Soludo does not want contractors that will fail ndi Anambra but the one that will build standard projects and we as legislators are here to stand for him and make sure that all the contractors work according to specifications.
” Anambra state is privileged to have me an engineer as the house committee chairman on Works and infrastructure and we will make sure that everything will be standard because their wont be no cutting corners. It won’t be business as usual because this time around, everything will be thoroughly supervised.
“Governor Soludo wants to set a good example for people to follow. He is setting a pace for ndi Anambra.
” We deal with consultants and they will give us all details of the jobs they are handling including all the agreement signed during the appropriation of the work.
“Any contractor that abandon his work, we will investigate and make sure that everything is strategized. This is why oversight is important.
” Anything contractors that is not performing will have the job revoked. The committee on Works And infrastructure is ready for action and deliver by making sure that everything works according.
” The smart mega city is possible with this our committee. We will not disappoint ndi Anambra.
Hon. Emma Nwafor while congratulating ndi Anambra on the 32rd year anniversary hailed all past Governors of the state for their impact and achievements.
