Laila Charani, the Moroccan spouse of Nigerian Senator Ned Nwoko, on Thursday launched a scathing rebuttal against Nollywood actress Regina Daniels amid their escalating family feud, accusing her of spreading falsehoods about financial support and introducing drugs to the household while urging her to resume rehabilitation.
Charani’s statement, posted on social media, dismissed Daniels’ claims that Nwoko never provided for her, challenging: “How dare you say that you ever gave me money, for what exactly? I am very contented with the provisions my husband makes for our family. We should show Nigerians our bank accounts to see who is paying money to our accounts.”
She highlighted Nwoko’s aversion to substances, adding: “You also know that my husband completely hates alcohol, drugs, and smoking. He has always been clear that he would never accept any wife who drinks, smokes, or uses drugs. The only reason you are fighting my husband is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol addiction.”
Charani revealed personal turmoil, stating: “You know too well that I almost lost my marriage when you introduced me to drugs 6 years ago and it was my husband’s quick insistence on intervention that rescued me from that dark path. You have been a bad influence since you married into this beautiful family giving drugs to nannies and our workers including your younger sister Destiny.”
The Moroccan wife escalated her accusations, claiming: “You infected everyone with your virus and this is why I will not trust my daughters around you unsupervised especially when I found out that you were sleeping with every single girl around you.”
Charani concluded with a plea for recovery: “Please go and sort yourself out. Seek help immediately and continue with your rehabilitation, and leave the other wives out of this. I say this not out of anger, but from a place of truth and concern for the level of lies that you are peddling for reasons that are known to you alone.”
‘Sleeping with same gender isn’t a thing I consider shameful’ – Regina Daniels
Regina Daniels has sparked fresh controversy within the Nwoko household after publicly calling out her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko, and his Moroccan wife, Laila Charani, in a fiery social media post that has since gone viral.
In the Instagram story, Daniels appeared visibly frustrated as she accused her co-wife of making what she described as “hurtful and baseless” remarks, allegedly at Nwoko’s directive.
“Openly saying you can’t leave kids around me is the most useless and hurtful thing Ned ordered his wife to say,” Daniels wrote. “I’m such a mother to so many children that it’s quite tiring.”
The actress went further, reacting to claims about her private life with a mix of sarcasm and indignation. “Also, saying I sleep with every single girl? Truthfully, sleeping with same gender isn’t a thing I consider shameful, but how is the other woman so certain? IS SHE SO CERTAIN BECAUSE I SLEPT WITH HER TOO?” she added, with a pointed emoji implying sarcasm.
Daniels’ post also hinted at deep-seated tensions within the polygamous home, alleging that one of the children from the marriage had been exposed to “atrocities” she chose not to detail. “Her son and mine can’t be together because of all the atrocities we have caught him doing that I will never mention!” she wrote.
The mother of two concluded her post with an apparent plea to her husband, warning him not to use their children as leverage in the ongoing family feud. “Ned better protect my kids! Their foundation is the ultimate — do not use them to weaken me!
