SASA Arrest Criminal Destroying Second Niger Bridge

Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad (SASA) has arrested notorious criminal Mr. Chukwudi Akidi, from Abia State for vandalising the water tunnel of the bridge and stealing the properties of the Second Niger Bridge.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the swift action taken by the SASA team led to the successful capture of the suspect, who had been causing significant damage to government property by selling stolen materials to scrap dealers.

The Director of SASA, Solomon Chukwuebuka Onwuemene while speaking, emphasised the importance of their surveillance efforts in safeguarding critical infrastructure like the Second Niger Bridge.

“The team’s dedication to monitoring the area closely paid off as they were able to intercept the criminal in the act of destroying public property for personal gain.

“The arrest serves as a reminder of the ongoing threats posed by individuals seeking to profit from illegal activities at the expense of public resources. It also highlights the crucial role that vigilant environmental inspections play in protecting key infrastructure and deterring criminal behaviour.

“Moving forward, the SASA team remains committed to upholding the integrity of Anambra State and ensuring that such acts of vandalism and touting are swiftly dealt with. The successful apprehension of the suspect is a testament to the effectiveness of proactive monitoring and the importance of collaborative efforts in preserving our communal assets.

“As investigations continue, the authorities are poised to take necessary actions to prevent similar incidents in the future and hold accountable those who seek to undermine the development and progress of Anambra State. The  efforts of the Sasa team  have once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents” Onwuemene said.
