Colombian superstar Shakira has released the first preview of “Dai Dai”, the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking her return as the voice of the global football showpiece.
The 49-year-old pop icon, famous for hits such as “Whenever, Wherever” and “Hips Don’t Lie”, teased the track in a one-minute video posted on Instagram from Brazil’s iconic Maracana Stadium on Thursday.
“Dai Dai” features Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and is scheduled for full release on May 14, 2026.
This will be Shakira’s second official World Cup anthem after “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, which became a global sensation during the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
She also performed “La La La” at the closing ceremony of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and sang “Hips Don’t Lie” at the 2006 final in Germany.
The 2026 edition, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, will be the first 48-team World Cup and is set to run from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
Shakira’s native Colombia has already qualified for the tournament.
The announcement has generated excitement among football fans worldwide, as Shakira continues her strong association with FIFA’s flagship event.
