A political support group, ‘Ogun State 4 BAT Forum 2023’, has hailed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for picking Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
In a statement yesterday by its Coordinator Prince Bayo Ogunmeno, it praised Tinubu for making the wisest decision.
It dismissed the belief that Osun governorship poll was a threat to Tinubu’s presidential victory in Southwest, alleging the poll was a protest against ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola’s rule.
Ogunmeno, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Sagamu and National Executive Committee (NEC) member of APC-USA, said the Ekiti State poll, compared to Osun’s, showed that APC was a party to watch out for in 2023 general election.
Ogunmeno, a lawyer-cum-politician, who is also the chairman APC-USA, Kansas chapter; Foundation member, ?gb? ?m? Yoruba North America; member, National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) Abroad USA and president, World Congress Afenifere, said Tinubu, a veteran politician, must have weighed the options, among which were competence, capability and reliability to guide his choice.
