Soludo, Anambra Assembly Mourns Passing Of Former Speaker, Nnebe

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has received with shock and grief the news of the death of Rt. Hon. Anayo Nnebe, a former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and currently a Special Adviser on Legislative /State Assembly Matters to the governor. 

Late Nnebe passed away on Wednesday January 24, 2024 after a brief illness.

Governor Soludo in his condelence message, described Rt Hon. Nnebe a distinguished son of Anambra State, a patriotic Nigerian, who served the state with honour, integrity, and excellence. 

“He was a visionary leader, a brilliant legislator, and a passionate advocate for the welfare and development of his people and Anambra State.

“He was a man of peace, wisdom, and compassion. The governor has lost a trusted ally, a dependable colleague, and a dear brother in the former Speaker. 

“His death is also a huge blow to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and to the entire people of Anambra State. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

“On behalf of the government and the good people of Anambra State, Governor Soludo extends his heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, associates, and constituents. 

“May God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grant his soul eternal rest”. Soludo prayed.

Also, Anambra State House of Assembly mourn the death of former Speaker Late Chief Anayo Nnebe.

Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, the Speaker of the 8th Anambra Assembly, In his condolence message to the Late Chief Nnebe’s family on behalf of the state legislature, described the death of Nnebe as a great loss to the state in general.

He described the Late State Assembly Speaker as a grassroot politician, philanthropist, devout Christian and community leader who made giant contributions to the development of his home town Awka and Anambra State at large.

Rt. Hon. Udeze noted that Late Nnebe distinguished himself as a renowned public servant and selfless politician in view of his numerous accomplishments.

The Speaker recounted some of the achievements of Late Chief Nnebe to include construction of numerous constituency projects, securing employment opportunities and provision of empowerment schemes for his constituents among others.

Udeze maintained that though his immediate family, Awka Community, Ndi Awka North and South Local Government Areas, Anambra State House of Assembly, National Assembly and indeed Nigerians will miss the Late Chief Nnebe, his eventful life and times are enough consolation.

The Speaker prayed God to give his family the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the soul of the Late Chief Nnebe eternal rest.

Angel Network News reports that late Nnebe started as Secretary to the Government of Awka South Local Government Area, State Assembly Speaker, National Assembly Member as well as Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on State Assembly and National Assembly Matters.
