Soludo Deserve Second Term, Governorship Aspirants Should Withdraw Their Candidacies : Obi

National Convener, Recover Nigeria Project (RNP) Comrade Osita Obi says Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo deserved a second term in office.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that Obi, a Human Rights Activist, while addressing journalists on Tuesday in Awka, urged aspirants vying for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election to withdraw their candidacies.

Obi said instead, the aspirants should rather channel their resources into the state’s security endowment fund in support of Soludo.

According to the Activist, Soludo’s continued effort in changing the negative narrative about Awka as a glorified state capital in Nigeria and other completed and ongoing projects across the 179 communities in the state is enough evident for him to be elected. He believes that Soludo’s progress thus far eliminates the need for contenders in the upcoming election.

Comrade Obi stated that the governor should be allowed to continue his efforts in transforming the state. He maintained that after visiting several of Governor Soludo’s projects in the state, he concluded that he must support him.

“I want to urge those who are aspiring to contest the governorship against Soludo to withdraw and use their money to support Soludo’s security fund. For now, Soludo is the best for the state. Let everyone drop their ambition to become governor. Soludo is doing great work,” he said.

“If a man is doing well, we should support him for the wonderful work he is doing. I am asking that people give him time to complete what he is doing today. Let no one come and distort the good work he is doing in the state,” Obi stated.

In response to critics on the ongoing media war between Governor Soludo and the Spiritual Director, Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry Uke, Anambra state, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube Muonso) over the rising insecurity in the state, Obi defended his reputation as a dedicated activist.

While acknowledging Rev. Fr. Ebube Muonso’s right to demand improved security for the people, Obi emphasized the importance of doing so with respect and decorum, rather than resorting to personal attacks on the governor.

On the issue of Ebube Muonso, coursing those that speak evil against him, Comrade Obi stated that no one could harm him because he is above human destruction, stating that only God has the power to take his life.

He insisted that Fr. Ebube Muonso should apologise to the governor for indecently speaking to him.

“Criticism should be done within the boundaries of decency. Fr. Ebube Muonso should be more respectful when criticizing the governor because Soludo is an Insitution” Comrade Obi said.

He also referenced numerous achievement in his advocacy, including regular electricity supply in Awka, which led to a N100 million lawsuit against him by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), currently pending in a federal high court.
