Soludo Flags off 2024 Anambra State Local Government Service Week

Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, has flagged off the 2024 Local Government Service Commission Week.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Anambra State Local Government Service Week is designed to acknowledge and rejuvenate the Commission while celebrating the contributions of local government workers.

The event which kicked off at Professor Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, Awka, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, underscores Soludo’s commitment to overhauling the local government system.

Governor Soludo while speaking on the event’s theme, “Value Rebirth Through Digital Transformation: Solution ICT Agenda,” commended the commission’s leadership and members for their dedication to ensuring the local government system operates efficiently.

Soludo emphasized that the 2024 Anambra State Local Government Service Week is a critical step in the holistic rebuilding of the public service. He urged local government workers to embody the change they wish to see in their workplaces and reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises, even after two years in office.

The Governor Soludo while addressing the ongoing issue of the minimum wage,
assured proactive measures would be implemented once the Federal Government enacts the necessary legislation.

On his part, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Vin Ezeaka highlighted their role in executing the ‘Solution Mandate’ under Governor Soludo’s administration and expressed their readiness to maintain momentum.

Also speaking, former Aviation Minister, Chief Osita Chidoka lauded Governor Soludo as an embodiment of value addition and urged him to continue such interactive sessions with various societal segments.

Chief Chidoka also called on public servants to conduct themselves civilly and avoid actions that could lead to public empathy.
