Soludo Honoured As “Beacon Of Hope” By Organized Labour

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof.
Chukwuma Soludo has been honored with the prestigious “Workers’ Beacon of Hope” award by Organized Labour during the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration.

The event marked by colorful parades, solidarity speeches, and renewed commitments to sustaining harmony between the government and organized labour in the state.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Labour Leaders during the event held on Thursday at the, Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, commended Soludo for his proactive implementation of the 2024 national minimum wage.

The award recognizes Governor Soludo’s remarkable empathy, dedication, and consistent support for workers across Anambra State.

In their separate speeches, the representatives of both the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) lauded Governor
Soludo’s administration for fostering a worker-friendly environment, promoting welfare reforms, and upholding dignity in public service.

They further praised the Governor’s broader vision for Anambra, citing his strides in economic reform, infrastructure development, and good governance as foundational pillars that continue to improve the quality of life for workers and residents alike.

While the federal benchmark was set at ₦70,000, Soludo not only surpassed it by approving ₦82,000 the highest in the Southeast but also ensured seamless and prompt implementation across all sectors without any record of industrial disputes.

“Governor Soludo has not only met the expectations of workers but has exceeded them with integrity and compassion,” a union representative stated. “He remains a beacon of hope in a time when labour relations are strained in many parts of the country.”
