Governor Chukwuma Soludo has described the death of former Speaker of the 4th Anambra Assembly Rt. Hon. Anayo Nnebe as a big loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire Awka community, Anambra State and Nigeria at large.
Soludo who was represented by the Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim while speaking at the valedictory session in honour of the late Nnebe said the former lawmaker has left a vacume that will be difficult to fill.
Also speaking, former Governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi in his tribute described Nnebe as an outstanding legislatore who distinguished himself as a public servant.
Obi who was the Governor when Nnebe was Speaker, said the late Nnebe was elected as a member in the Federal House of Representative because of his leadership qualities. He prayed that his soul will rest in peace.
Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze in his tribute on behalf of the 8th assembly said the legacies of Anayo Nnebe will never be forgotten.
According to Udeze, Anayo Nnebe (Ichele Dikeora Awka) is more than a leader. He is was a champion and a true embodiment of a selfless service.
“As we pay homage to his remarkable life, we are reminded of the profound impact he made in our society and the lives he touched. He dedicated himself to the betterment of his community and constituency.
“His role as a special adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on legislative matters showcased his dedication”. Udeze stated.
National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, Hon. Nigeria Henry Mbachu (Awka South one) Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye (Awka South two) former Anambra Assembly Speakers and ex lawmakers in their tributes described late Nnebe as a man full of wisdom.
Angel Network News (ANN) recalls that Nnebe died on January 23rd after a brief illness at the age of 61 years.
