Soludo Presents 2025 Budget Estimate Of N607 Billion To Anambra Assembly

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has presented a budget estimate of N606, 991, 840, 118k for the 2025 fiscal year to the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Governor Soludo made the presentation at plenary on Tuesday.

Compared to the 2024 budget of N410,132,225,272, the 2025 budget tagged; “Changing Gears 2.0”, represents a 48% increase.

Recurrent expenditures account for N139.5 billion while capital expenditure is N467.5 billion.

The Capital Budget constitutes 77% of the total budget size, while recurrent expenditures account for 23%; the same ratios as for the 2024 budget.

The budget deficit is estimated at N148.3 billion (24% of the budget compared to 30% in the 2024 budget).

According to the Governor, the budget is expected to have a deficit of N148.3 Billion and is expected to be financed by revenue growth or borrowing from financial institutions, stressing that his government may not borrow, just as it has not done since inception.

The Governor explained that infrastructure, economic transformation, and human capital are the main kernel of the budget, adding that the major focus on education and health will continue in 2025.

Soludo described the State Assembly as a pacesetter and a strong and progressive partner in his administration’s drive to lay a solid foundation for a livable and prosperous Anambra state, pointing out that ndị Anambra appreciates their progressivism.

noted that the present administration’s mantra is technology everywhere, everything technology, as well as transparency and E-Governance, saying that Governor Soludo’s transformative leadership is touching every aspect of the state economy.

While pledging to continue with their role of representation, lawmaking, and oversight, the Speaker commended the Governor and team for providing services, especially to the poorest of the poor, the forgotten, and the downtrodden.

The Speaker described the budget presentation as a significant milestone in shaping the state’s development.

In a vote of thanks, House Committee Chairman on Finance and Appropriation
Hon. Ejike Okechukwu in a vote of thanks commended the Governor for giving ndi Anambra hope.

Hon. Okechukwu who is the member representing Anoacha two constituency said by the end of 2025 fiscal year the vision and mission of making Anambra to be Dubai Taiwan will be a reality as promised.

Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Njikoka two constituency Hon. Jude Akpua in an interview said the budget is realistic and that the state government will leave up to the expectations of ndi Anambra.
