Soludo Signs Document Repealing Anambra Publishing, Newspaper Printing Corporation

Professor Chukwuma Soludo has signed into law the bill repealing Anambra Publishing and Newspaper Printing Corporation.

Angel Network News reports that the bill for a law to repeal the Anambra State newspaper and printing corporation 1994 and to provide for related matters was passed into law at plenary on the 14th of December 2023.

The existence of the longest existing government owned newspaper in the country on Wednesday December 27th was finally nailed
when Soludo signed the document.

According to the Governor, the action was to curb wastage, as the newspaper company was only taking from government and unable to fund itself.

He said: “Today, I signed the document repealing the Anambra State Publishing and Newspaper Printing Corporation. This is part of our efforts at reducing government spendings and cutting cost in the face of dwindling revenues.

“We shall continue to work hard to make Anambra win!”
