Soludo Visits Schools Over Monday Resumption

Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Monday took his campaign against the controversial Monday sit-at-home to schools in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area

Prof. Soludo visited about ten primary and secondary institutions to reinforce the message that Mondays are now fully restored as regular school days in Anambra State.

During the tour, the governor directed school administrators to take full attendance of teachers and students who resumed for academic activities. He also assured them that the state government had strengthened security to guarantee the safety of schools and students.

Soludo commended the teachers and pupils who showed up for classes, describing their presence as a strong sign that normal life is gradually returning despite years of disruption linked to the sit-at-home directive that has affected much of South-East Nigeria.

According to Soludo, the region cannot afford to remain out of sync with global standards of productivity.

“Monday is now a regular school day and arguably the most important day of the week for setting the tone of productivity,”

The governor said, urging students to embrace hard work and integrity as they prepare to compete in a global environment.

Soludo also highlighted the state’s “returned schools” initiative, a partnership arrangement where the government subsidises schools and supports teaching staff while the Church handles physical infrastructure to maintain a conducive learning environment.
