Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore on Wednesday levelled explosive allegations against Delta State Senator Ned Nwoko, claiming he wed Nollywood star Regina Daniels when she was 17 and subsequently concealed her age through forged documents and international travel, sparking fresh outrage in the couple’s ongoing public separation.
Sowore, founder of the #RevolutionNow movement and a vocal critic of elite impunity, posted the claims on social media, asserting “evidence now available” shows Nwoko, 63, took the actress abroad — to Jordan, the UAE and Egypt — while she remained a minor, using her passport that betrayed her underage status at the time of their 2019 union.
Daniels, born Regina Nneamaka Favour Ojeogwu in October 2001, legally changed her surname to Daniels post-marriage, Sowore alleged, adding that Nwoko procured a “fake INEC Nigeria voter card” to mask her age and “introduced her to drugs to enable him to force himself on her.”
The firebrand activist, who ran unsuccessfully for president in 2019, framed the revelations as a tipping point, declaring: “This latest revelation raises serious legal and ethical questions that can never be ignored. The facts, as they stand, point to a violation of both moral and statutory boundaries, and the truth will soon be fully public.”
He intensified the attack, writing: “No amount of influence or political power should shield anyone from accountability when such grave issues are involved. Crooked All Progressives Congress Senator Prince Ned Nwoko is fully exposed NOW!”
Nwoko and Daniels, whose May 2019 traditional and court weddings thrust her into the spotlight, have been locked in a bitter feud since last month, with Daniels accusing the lawmaker of isolation and coercion.
