Sport Development: Ihiala TC Chairman, Kingsley Extols Soludo’s Solution Sport Initiative, Sues For Robust Stakeholders Partnership

The Transition Committee Chairman of Ihiala Local Government Area, Hon. Kingsley Obi has called for more stakeholders partnership to boast sport development activities from the grassroot level in Anambra.

He made this remarks at the ongoing inter-local government competition held at the Awka township stadium yesterday on Awka.

The Sunday match featured Onitsha LG FC versus Ihiala FC ended in 3-0 in favour of Onitsha Council.

Speaking to newsmen after the match, the Ihiala LG Boss, Hon. Kingsley Obi commended governor Soludo for providing a peaceful environment for sports activities to strive. He called on well meaning Ndi Anambra living within the state and beyond to partner with Anambra State Government, the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) and the State Youth Council to initiate more program that will empower and engage the youth positively to make them responsible citizens of the state in order to build the much desired secured, livable and prosperous homeland.

He however expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of his side in the Brainbox tournament and promised to do everything within his reach to encourage and boast the passion and determination of his boys for better performance in subsequent competition.

In a separate development, the chairman, Peace FC, Mr. Ifunanya Nwangwu extolled the organizers for providing the platform for people in the state to showcase their talent. He affirmed that the tournament will contribute to promoting unity and understanding among Ndi Anambra.

He also went further to express optimism that his side will qualify and subsequently win the All Stars tournament.

On a separate note, the head coach of Ebonyi FC, Mr. ikechukwu Itumo expressed his joy and satisfaction with the brilliant performance of his team, saying the winning foretells goodwill for more success for his side in the competition.

He commended the team manager, Distinguish Senator Obinna Ogba for facilitating the preparation and support for his team and promised to return home with the trophy.

Contributing, the captain of Ebonyi FC, Ojukwu Onyedikachi while appreciating his team management thanked the sponsor, Senator Ogba for the encouragement and support, noting that the competition offers opportunity for youths to pursue career in football to help reduce crime and support security in the society. He promised to work with his team to bring back the trophy to Ebonyi State.

In his remark, the Anambra State Football Association Chairman, Comrade Chikelue Iloenyosi while commending the bold step taken by the Youth Council and the Brainbox foundation to organize the game, noted that the competition provides opportunity to scout for young talents from grassroot. He added, that the ANSFA as the state football governing body is always available to support such initiative and provide necessary technical support to ensure that competitions are fairly played from the start to finish.

Other important matches which featured for the day includes National League One between Ebonyi United FC versus Planinum FC of Imo State which ended 1-0 in favour of the Ebonyi Sidee, Anambra All Star Tournament between Peace FC versus Nkpor FC which ended 2-2 draw and Orumba North FC versus Ekwusigo FC in the Brainbox Competition which ended in 2-1 in favour of Orumba North.
