Suspended Anambra Lawmaker Walked-out From Budget Presentation

The Suspended Lawmaker representing Ayamelum Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Bernard Udemezue who resumed plenary on Tuesday was walked out of the legislative Chambers.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
Hon. Udemezue who was suspended three months ago by Anambra Assembly
appeared for the first time, while waiting for plenary, the lawmaker was approached by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, and the Memebr representing Oyi Constituency, Hon. Innocent Ojike approached the suspended Law maker and accompanied him out of the Chamber in company of security personnel.

The House leadership also went upstairs at the galary and walked out all supporters of the law maker who had accompanied him to the plenary.

According to them, the Law maker did not follow due process after his three months suspension elapsed .

In defence, Mr Udemezue claimed that he followed due process and had submitted necessary letters for resumption to the appropriate authorities before his appearance.

The Security operatives however insisted and walked him to the new Legislative building.

Hon. Udemezue was not part of plenary where Governor Chukwuma Soludo presented 2026 budget appropriation before the House of Assembly.

ANN recalls that during the last plenary session, Anambra Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, referred the matter of Hon. Udemezue’s suspension to the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges for further consideration and recommendations regarding the conditions for his possible reintegration into the 8th Anambra State House of Assembly.
