All eyes on the judiciary is a popular saying by most Nigerians and the citizenry are anxiously waiting for tomorrow’s (Thursday) judgement by the tribunal.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ANN, the member representing Ogbaru One constituency at the Anambra State house of assembly Hon. Nobel Chukwunonso Igwe says the judiciary are very competent and are independent and know what is right and will do what is right for Nigerians.
According to the lawmaker ” If you say all eyes on judiciary, it means you are already convinced that they will do the right thing. We should allow them. Let them use their initiative and do what is justifiable”.
Reacting to the strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Hon. Nobel Chukwunonso Igwe says everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
“If you feel that your right is been infridge, you have to agitate for it according to the law. But considering the economic situation in the country, their is every tendency that the labour market should be considered.
“The demands of the NLC such as salaries increament should be looked up because civil servants are going into difficult times.The hardship is telling more on the labour force because their salaries are stagnant while the cost of things are inflating and their is a need to strike a balance.
Speaking on the many petitions flowing into the 8th house of assembly, Hon. Nobel Igwe revealed that some issues does not need to be settled in court.
” If you feel that the state government or ministries have infridged on your right, the next alternative place to approach is the state assembly and when such petitions come, the committee on public petitions will handle it judiciously before ruling on it and make their recomendations.
