The Salvation Army, Anambra West Division has welcomed Lieutenant Colonels Godspower and Stella Anozie as its new Divisional Commander and Divisional Director for Women’s Ministries, respectively.
The installation ceremony, held at The Salvation Army Onitsha Citadel, drew prominent figures from various walks of life.
In attendance were command leaders, officers, soldiers, and friends of the Salvation Army from Anambra East and West Divisions, as well as guests from different walks of life. Representing the Bishop of Niger Diocese was Ven. Joseph Nweke, while Hon. Anayo Okpaleke, Member representing Aguata II in the State House of Assembly, the traditional Prime Minister of Umuchu, Chief Alphonsus Obidike and the CEO of Carltec Ltd, Chief Okwudili Otti were also present.
The Territorial Commander and Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, Nigeria Territory, Commissioners Friday and Glory Ayanam, represented by Lieutenant Colonels Nkwachukwu and Juliet Ezeonyilimba, performed the installation ceremony.
In their charge to the new Divisional Commander, they urged Lt. Anozie to preach and uphold the word of God while caring for the welfare of the army under his leadership.
In his message, Lt. Col. Godspower Anozie emphasized the importance of discovering one’s calling in life and pursuing it to achieve success. He noted that life is not about trial and error, but about following God’s plan.
The ceremony featured a marching-in by leaders, timbrel display, presentations by the band and songsters, and awards to retired members.
In a welcome address during the reception, Corps Sergeant Major Ezekiel Mbachu described the new leaders’ appointment as a divine orchestration to guide and strengthen the work of God in Anambra West and the Eastern zone.
The National Chairman of APGA, Barr Sly Ezeokenwa, in a remark congratulated the new Bishop for his elevation and promised to support his proposed Rehabilitation and Counselling Centre at the Salvation Army, Nteje which is expected to serve Ndi Anambra.
The APC governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, who was awarded for his humanitarian service noted that his life as an Evangelist and a philanthropist are beyond politics because he was called to serve God by helping vulnerable individuals to live a meaningful life.

Highlights of the event were special renditions by the celebrant, presentations by Nkpor Corps Women Dancers, and awards to deserving individuals, including the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Prince Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, Rev. Dr. Victor Mark of the Locust Army, Mr. Val. Ozigbo and Chief Abraham Ikechukwu Otti Mighty Mighty of Umuchu, among others.
