Thousands of protesters flooded central London on Wednesday to oppose U.S. President Donald Trump’s unprecedented second state visit to the UK.
Police estimated around 5,000 demonstrators gathered, marching from the BBC headquarters to Parliament Square. Organized by the Stop Trump Coalition — supported by Amnesty International UK, Black Lives Matter UK, Greenpeace, and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign — the protest featured placards, Palestinian flags, and even smaller versions of the “Trump baby blimp.”
While Trump received a red-carpet welcome at Windsor Castle, critics rallied in London, accusing him of fueling division and fascism. “This is the moment to reject the politics of hate,” Green Party leader Zack Polanski told the crowd.
Over 1,600 police officers were deployed, but the event remained largely peaceful, with no reports of arrests. New polling shows Trump remains deeply unpopular in Britain, with nearly half opposing his invitation.
