Tinubu Appoints Former Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, As Special Adviser

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Sunday Dare as Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation.

Dare, who hails from Ogbomoso in Oyo State, served as Minister of Youth and Sports Development in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has approved the immediate implementation of eight far-reaching actions to reinvigorate the Administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency pursuant of his commitment to deliver on his promises to Nigerians,” the Presidency stated.

The new appointment was announced by the Presidency in a statement on Wednesday shortly after the President reshuffled his cabinet.

The Presidency had also announced the sacking of five ministers, appointment of seven ministers and movement of 10 ministers to different portfolios.

Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, wife of the late secessionist leader, Colonel Odumegwu Ojukwu is one of the newly appointed ministers.

Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu was appointed as minister of state foreign affairs while Jumoke Oduwole was named the minister of industry, trade and investment.

Others are: Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Federal Ministry of Labour & Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Federal Ministry of Livestock Development; Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development; and Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State Education

The President earlier announced that the National Sports Commission should take over the role of the Ministry of Sports.
