‘Obidient Now and Always’ – Eze
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Organization suffered a major shock just less than 24 hours to the D day as the state coordinator of one of his support groups openly declared for Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP.
The Anambra State Coordinator of Progressive Campaign Organization For Tinubu/Shettima 2023,(PCO4Tinubu/Shettima 2023), Mr Osita Okechukwu Eze took to his Facebook, Friday, February 24, 2023 to declare his support for Peter Obi.
Eze described his earlier verbose support of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition as a social experiment to see how tolerant the people are of unpopular opinions. He however expressed dismay at how intolerant the people have been of his support for Tinubu while maintaining that Peter Obi of the Labour Party is the ‘breath of fresh air’ to take Nigeria into the first world status it deserves.
The Facebook post read thus; “OBIDIENT NOW AND ALWAYS
My social experiment, declaring support for Tinubu, as an Igbo man, and the heavy backlash I got, has gone to show how intolerant we still are as a people.
I pray we understand how important tolerance is in this walk towards a first world status as a nation. We cannot go far if we do not accept one another regardless of differences.
For record purpose, My household and I are voting for Peter Obi come February 25, 2023. This is for the best interest of this nation.
Peter Obi is a breath of fresh air and his presidency would mean an injection of fresh blood into the Nigerian system.
True patriotism will return.
May peace and tolerance prevail in this nation.”
ANN recalls that this erstwhile Anambra State Coordinator of one of Tinubu’s support groups in Anambra State had shown great passion during his time as a Tinubu supporter. He was reported as having named his son Tinubu after the APC presidential candidate and was answering Tinubu-boy on Twitter.
Responding to ANN on why he was jumping ship just at the eve of the election, Mr Eze said, “Just as I indicated in my Facebook post, I was conducting a social experiment. It is as clear as daylight that Peter Obi is the best man for the job of Nigerian president. He is the only one of the three top contenders that the people can hold accountable. Much as I respect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu greatly as well as Atiku Abubakar, I believe Peter is better. They can play advisory roles. It is still the same Nigeria. Let us work together and stop the animosity and negative trolls. We cannot move forward as a country when we fight each other like animals.”
