President Bola Tinubu has annulled sweeping shake-ups at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), restoring former Director-General Salihu Abdullahi Dembos and Executive Director of News Ayo Adewuyi to their posts.
A statement released on Tuesday by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that both officials—initially appointed in October 2023 and 2024 respectively—will now complete their tenures uninterrupted, with Adewuyi set to serve until 2027.
The reversal nullifies the appointments made last month, which had installed Rotimi Pedro as DG alongside new executive directors for News, Marketing, and NTA Enterprises—moves now rendered void.
