* Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo says every step must be taken in the homes and general society, to protect women, children and the girl child. Mrs Soludo who stated this while reacting to the recent arrest of a seventy-five-year old man who allegedly raped and impregnated a thirteen-year-old girl under his care in Awka stated that horrible days await child traffickers and abusers still operating in the state.

* The rising cost of petroleum products like gas, petrol , diesel among others has continued to worry residents of Awka the Anambra state capital. The situation has also affected almost every goods, services and commodities as a litre now sells between Two hundred and fifty to Two hundred and sixty naira. Since the price of the commodity increased to #260 naira per litre, the cost of living in Awka has become almost unbearable for people especially civil servants whose salaries and income remain static.

* The government of Anambra state has announces that the monthly sanitation exercise for the month of December will hold on Saturday 17th December 2022. In a release signed by Commissioner for Information Sir Paul Nwosu made available to ANN, Ndị Anambra are urged to participate in this month’s exercise by desilting their drainage systems, cutting the bushes around their property and businesses places, as well as generally keeping their surroundings neat and clean.

* The Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on Wednesday, 14th December 2022 commissioned the Ultra modern Centre for Development and ICT built by the APGA Candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial zone for the upcoming 2023 general election, Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo domiciled at Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka LGA.

* The Chairman, Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ANSSDC), Patrick Onyedum has expressed disappointment over the state of the Ekwulobia Township Stadium and proposed Ogidi Stadium complex.

Onyedum embarked on a tour of the sports facilities in company of ranking members of staff of the commission.

* Construction work has commenced on the Unizik temporary site junction Okpuno- Isuaniocha road in Anambra state. Anambra state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo had awarded the contract two months ago with an assurance that it will be completed within ten months. The 6.847 kilometer road project is expected to ease human and vehicular movement on the ever busy road. Residents had been expressing concern over the non commencement of work since the rains stopped about two months ago.

*Ogbunike Community in Oyi local government area of Anambra was attacked by gunmen numbering about twenty shooting indiscriminately and robbing villagers of their personal effects. So far about seventeen persons were injured while two persons who were badly injured are at a local hospital and it is not clear if they would survive the bullet wounds on them. The gunmen who were said to be youths of the community mostly ex – convicts recently released from jail also stormed the home of late Pa  Samuel Okwudili Nwoso at Ifite Ogbunike whose funeral is slated to hold in January next year and attacked workers carrying out renovation work at the buildings in the compound

* Youths and students in Anambra State on Wednesday hold a special mega rally and summit to host Presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ahead of the February presidential election. The special summit, tagged “Anambra Youths/Students for Atiku”, was held at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Awka, the state capital
