* With the 2022 matriculation and capping ceremony, one hundred and seventy-five,Year One students of College of Nursing Sciences, Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area have become full-fledged students of the institution. The one hundred and twenty that started Preliminary Training Session, programme in Nursing department of the college, seventy-five were successful, while in Midwifery department, one hundred of the one hundred and twenty-nine students were successful for the ceremony that commenced with pontifical holy mass officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor.

* More than fifty-eight indigent students from Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State have benefited from the scholarship scheme of former Senator I.G. Abana in a ceremony witnessed by the residents of the community. The award will be implemented through the Senator IG Abana Foundation.

* Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has said that the state is now about the safest state in Nigeria, and that he will continue to ensure that criminal elements in the states are taken out. Soludo who briefed journalists in his country home in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area commended the efforts of security operatives in the state, saying that their commitment has helped ensure security in the state.

* It was a contest of brain and beauty during the 2022 Ada Nibo beauty pageant, which brought The Annual Nibo Carnival to its climax. The beautiful contestants who represented each village in Nibo town were all glamorous in their different attire both traditional and modern outfit, as they each showcased themselves on stage.

* Umudioka Improvement Union Youths Wing, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra State under the leadership of Comrade Mbanugo Nelson Onyeka have organised Umudioka Youths Carnival and launching of Umudioka Youths Recreation Centre. The youth equally used the occasion to celebrate Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha and Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Rev.Valerian Maduka Okeke who is the Indigene of the Community for his numerous contributions to the development of their Community.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, who announced that Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration will soon direct employment of more people in the primary healthcare sector, noted that the one hundred and seventy-five matriculants is part of efforts to ensure steady supply of quality services of nurses and midwives. Dr. Obidike maintained that Governor Soludo is passionate about improving the health sector; evidenced by salary increment for healthcare providers, which he said has helped to prevent industrial disharmony.

* The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke has expressed worry over the worsening insecurity and economic hardship, leading to loss of lives and property. Cardinal Okpalaeke who expressed the displeasure in his Christmas message said he is encouraged by the resilience of the people and collective resolve not to be broken down, while appreciating the level of faith, courage, determination and willingness of not giving up. He urged Nigerians to remain firm despite challenges they are facing.

* A notable godfather in the Anambra State politics, Chief Chris Uba, has boasted that he has made many governors, senators, House of Representatives and House of Assembly members since the inception of the present democratic dispensation in 1999. He said, however, that all those he lifted to high political positions abandoned him, and rewarded him with ingratitude. 

* Hell was let loose between midnight and 1am in the early hours of Wednesday 28th December, 2022 as daredevil gunmen invaded Ihiala Divisional Police Station with explosive devices that rattled the Police Division and Area Command.

Eye witness accounts say the attackers damaged the Police Division and the Area Command with their explosives and gunfire. The extent of loss is indescribable and not yet quantified as there were still explosions while people, living around the ill-fated police station scampered for safety over the night.
