* The Lawmaker representing Awka South two Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly under the political platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, have pledged his unalloyed support to the State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo who he described as Godsent to Ndi-Anambra. Okoye, who disclosed this to Journalists in Awka, over the weekend, shortly after leading over 2,000 APGA supporters and volunteers to his 3rd edition of “Walk-For-Health Programme” round the town of Amawbia in Awka South Local Government Area of the state, maintained that Governor Chukwuma Soludo as a seasoned technocrat has all it takes to move Anambra State to greater heights.
* One of the major contenders for the much-revered royal throne, Eze Okpoko II of Oba community, Chief Okwuduba Anyaorah has feted Oba residents distributing over 500 bags of rice to people who may not be privileged to enjoy the Yuletide in good mood given the prevalent harsh economy in the country. The renowned industrialist, businessman, and philanthropist who came from a humble background also encouraged the people to embrace honesty and good works in their life journey looking up to God who is capable of turning one’s fortunes from poverty to riches. * The newly elected president-general of Nawgu Development Union (NDU), Prince Frank Okwudili Nwegwu says his victory was a prayer answered for ndi Nawgu craving for a new direction for the desired growth and development of the town. Nwegwu stated this after emerging victorious at the peaceful and keenly contested election of the NDU held at the Iruka Primary School Nawgu, Dunukofia Local Government Area.
* Amawbia have emerged champions of the 2022/23 season of the Obizi Unity Cup bankrolled by the member representing Awka South Constituency Two at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye. In a competitive finals played at the Central School field (Aguogba) Amawbia on Sunday, 1st January 2023, Amawbia saw off defending champions Nise 4-2 on penalties after a goalless affair in regulation time.
* The candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the Ihiala Federal House of Representative’s constituency, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam, says it is time to clean and rebuild Ihiala. Barr Maduakolam’s position was contained in his new year message to his constituents, copies of which were made available to journalists in Ihiala.
The House of Reps hopeful, while thanking God for his mercies on the constituents, also appreciated Ndị Ihiala for their unflinching support and resolve to clean Ihiala.
* As the 5th democratically elected Governor of Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, remains an enigma to many people. * The Transition Chairman Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, Hon Mrs Amaka Obi has commended the Nnokwa community for conducting an adjudged transparent town union election under a peaceful atmosphere. Mrs Obi observed that the election was conducted under the watch of Nnokwa community cabinet members, Youths and elders, Anambra State government officials and Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) delegates following accepted constitutional provisions of the community. She advised the newly elected executives of Nnokwa Progress Union (NPU) led by Wing Commander, Joe Ezeamyika Rtd to partner with both the Local and State Government in rendering acceptable service to his community and Ndi Anambra at large.
* It was a revenge encounter at the Neros Stadium, Nanka where Otta Branch dethroned Nkpor Branch to emerge 2022/2023 winners of the Nanka Champions League. Otta Branch came out smoking in the first half obviously to avoid a repeat of last year when Nkpor Branch sent them to second position with a 1-0 win. Coming to the finals with the hope of three straight win of the coveted trophy, Nkpor Branch met a stone wall in Otta as they announced their readiness to be champions with two unreplied first half goals.
