* Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has assured that the Professor Chukwuma Soludo administration will commission more roads in the state and will complete all the projects in due time. The Deputy Governor gave the assurance during Christmas Sunday service at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Mbaukwu in Awka South Local Government Area.
* A young man, whose name was given as Ifeanyi, who was allegedly kidnapped on Friday last week, just two days to Christmas, has been found dead. The man who is said to be an indigene of Awgu, a community in Orumba North Local Government Area was abducted at Okpuno, close to Geneva Hotel, and whisked away by his abductors.
* As part of moves to ensure HIV/AIDS epidemic control during the yuletide, the Anambra State AIDS Control Agency (ANSACA), has commenced a three-day free HIV testing services and sensitization in five selected local government areas of the state.
The sensitization will also feature talks on gender-based violence. The selected LGAs include Awka South, Njikoka, Anambra East, Nnewi North and Onitsha North
* The Police in Anambra state have debunked a publication by Sahara Reporters alleging that operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department in connivance with a former Senator, rounded up as well as illegally detained two youths from Nsugbe community in Anambra-East local government area of the state over alleged vandalisation of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company’s property in the area. The Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu Anthony, in an official press statement to that effect, maintained that the said publication is completely false and grossly intended to incite and instigate the public against the police.
* It was a moment of joy and celebration as a philanthropist, Dr. Joachim Aforjama celebrated Christmas with less privileged persons at Ukunu Village, Agulu. Dr. Aforjama, played host to Ukunu indigenes of Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, as he celebrated and shared Christmas largesse to them and some less privileged persons.

* Chief Charles Okelutu Okadigbo bags Doctorate Award from reputable Academic Institution based in the United States of America. The International Association of World Peace Advocates in Conjunction with International Peace Foundation has presented a letter of recognition and Award to the Former President General of Achalla Improvement Union, Doctor Charles Okadigbo for his outstanding performance and interest in assisting Humanity through Traditional Practices.
* All roads will lead to Girls Secondary School, Abagana come Wednesday, December 28, 2022 as the school inaugurates her Old Girls Association. The long awaited event will be chaired by the Canada based medical doctor, Dr. Chinedu Umeadi. Umeadi is the Anambra Central Senatorial Candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the February 2023 national polls.

* Days after flaunting money online, UNIZIK student arrested for allegedly kidnapping his best friend.
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 400-level student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka for allegedly masterminding the abduction of his best friend. The suspect, Ndome Godsent Ogar, from the department of medicine, was said to have kidnapped his friend, a 300-level student from the department of Medical Laboratory.
* Stakeholders in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State have declared their support for Dr Obinna Uzoh, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District in the forthcoming elections.The stakeholders declared their support during a meeting held in Ihiala town where free medical services were also offered to the people of the LGA, courtesy of the senatorial candidate.
* Foremost Nigerian philanthropist and chairman of Oranto Oil, Prince Arthur Eze has come under severe criticisms, over comments against the Labour Party, LP presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi. Eze had during the 2022 Ofala festival of his brother, Igwe Robert Eze, who is the traditional ruler of Ukpo kingdom, said that he had advised Obi to withdraw from the race as he was incapable of winning. But supporters and non supporters of Obi have descended on Eze, saying that his support amounts to less, especially as he has never supported a winning candidate in a presidential election, or even been able to produce a governor in his home state.
* The Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone, has received a Diamond Merit award. This award of merit and honour was presented to him by the founding and Pioneer Rector of Saint John Innovation Institute of Management and Technology (JIIMATECH) Neni, Rev. Fr. Francis Michael Enyosiobi who earlier on the 17th of September, 2022, received it on his behalf.
* Nimo Town Development Union (NTDU), formerly known as Nimo Brotherhood Society (NBS), on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, suspended three officers over alleged verbal attack on the traditional ruler of the community, HRH Igwe Maxi Ike Oliobi. The three officers include Hon. Tony Aniedobe, 1st National Vice President; Dr. Valentine Iyke Oliobi, 2nd National Vice President; and Mr. Uche Akpuoye, 3rd National Vice President.
