* The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has called on public spirited individuals and organizations to continue to donate to the state government to assist the Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration’s post flood management support for flood victims in the State. The Deputy Governor made the call when he on behalf of Governor Soludo received five hundred ten-kilogram bags of rice donated by an organization for flood victims in the state at the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA office in Awka. The Deputy Governor who explained that this year’s flood disaster damaged things in affected areas in the state more than the previous years, said that the present administration is making efforts with the federal government to proffer a lasting solution to the disaster.
* Venerable Professor Anayo Nkamnebe, Vincent Nkemdilim, Barrister Cosmos Okafor and Jason Onyeakagbusi have been collated as an Archdeacon; in Anglican Diocese of Awka. Also, during the event Reverends Canon Clement Izuegbu, Shedrack Obidajuo, Jonathan Ikpeoyi, Joseph Onyibo, Chukwudi Nkwankwo and Chidi Ofuaro were made statutory Canons of the Cathedral. Performing the function which took place at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim charged them to accept the duties and responsibilities of the office with due humility, integrity and undertake to be faithful pastors to all whom they are called to serve, labour together with them and persevere in prayers both in public and private.
* Delta State High Court has sentenced the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Echeng, Echeng and Kingsley Umeh to prison over refusal to comply with the order of the court to release a Kidnapped child to his parents. In a suit No : HCO/44/2021 filed before Hon. Justice C.O Emifoniye of Delta State High Court, the plentif, Pastor Henry Osah had urged the court to order the Anambra State Police Command to free his kidnapped child who was found in an orphanage home in Anambra State.
* The Anambra state Head of Service, Barrister Okwy Igwegbe, has received the “Key Contributor Award” for her immense contributions to the growth and development of the various facets of the government, especially the Ministry of Lands. The recognition was given to her by the Anambra state Ministry of Lands during her award giving and end of the year ceremony held at the Ministry in Awka. Receiving the award, the Head of Service, Barrister Igwegbe, thanked the Commissioner for Lands for the recognition while encouraging his efforts and thoughtfulness.
* The candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha (DNA) Federal Constituency, Chief Sir Pete Ibida (Ide Nimo) inaugurated 190-members of Ibida Campaign Council of Anaocha LGA with the responsibility of ensuring victory for him and the party at the coming election on February 28th 2023. The Ibida Campaign Council in Anaocha LGA is chaired by Chief Ifeanyi Okafor with Hon Marcel Okafor and Hon Somto Anyaeche as Co-cordinators.
* Anambra State Housing Development Corporation, Awka, has appreciated their past Managing Directors and retired staff who have served the corporation meritoriously.
Speaking at the Housing Development Corporation Office in Awka, the Managing Director, Mr Chike Anyaonu said that what boosts and promotes productivity in a working place is dedication and asked the members of staff to learn from their former colleagues. Mr Anyaonu extolled the working relationship that existed between them and the retired staff stating that the corporation continued with the indelible marks made by them.
*The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) had released the full Campaign council list of 1579 members ahead of the 2023 election.
The release was signed by the National chairman of APGA, Ọzọnkpu Dr Victor Ike Oye and the National organising secretary, Barr Ifeanyi Mbaeri at Abuja and was made available to APGA New Media. * The Convener of Youth Earnestly Support Soludo and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth empowerment programme, Dr Nelson Omenugha has called on youths to always allow God direct their path while trying to achieve greatness in life.
Dr Omenugha who made this call on the occasion of the third edition of YESS Carol of nine lessons held in Awka, also advised the youths to be part of building a greater Anambra State. The YESS Carol of nine lessons featured music, bible readings, performances by ABS Heart beat chorale and other choral groups among others.
