# The Anambra State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening educational development and institutional partnerships as it received the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, at the Lighthouse Awka.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim, who represented Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, described the visit as timely and significant, noting that it marks the beginning of a renewed relationship between the state government and the institution.
Welcoming the delegation, the Deputy Governor reiterated that the Soludo administration places high value on qualified educators, adding that the government has continued to prioritize the recruitment of competent teaching personnel across institutions.
Dr. Ibezim emphasized the importance of collaboration between government and educational institutions, stressing that Anambra State remains open to meaningful partnerships that will advance learning, innovation, and human capital development.
He highlighted the state government’s investment in education and technology, noting that millions of naira have been committed in recent years to train young people in tech driven skills. According to him, the state’s Smart Schools initiative is already in operation, with more projects underway to further strengthen the education sector.
# The General Assembly and Elders Council of Ikenga Umueri Progressive Union, has threaten to suit the Chairman of Anambra East LGA, Hon Ifeanyi Chinweze, for calling them IPOB terrorists if he failed within 48 hours to tender unreserved public apology.
The council fear that such statement will endanger the lives and safety of innocent Ikenga Umueri sons and daughters both at home and abroad.
The group also warned the Council Chairman not to intimidate vulnerable people of Umueri.
# Residents of Nnewi woke up to a devastating sight, as property worth hundreds of millions of naira was destroyed following hours of heavy rainfall recently.
The flood overflowed drainage channels, which then flowed into homes, factories, and business premises, destroying goods, property, and industrial equipment.
The state chairman of the Motorcycle Transport Welfare Association, Comrade Jude Udegbe while reacting, blamed the development on a poorly constructed drainage channel along the Nnobi Road axis of the Agulu – Nnewi – Okija road project.
# The President-General of the Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA), Chief Humphrey Anuna, has received an outstanding award for his numerous achievements from traders in Anambra State.
Other distinguished traders who received awards alongside Anuna include the Patron of ASMATA, Chief Jude Nwankwo, Chief Nwabueze Umeh, Chief Jude Agumadu, Chief Bonfrancise Nzekwesili, Chief Moses Umeh, among others.

# Vehicle Inspection Service of the Ministry of Transport, Anambra State, in collaboration with the Drivers Welfare Club of Nigeria, has held a training program for new intakes at the Head of Service Conference Hall, Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
The training aims to ensure safety and welfare for public and private drivers, supporting the government’s efforts to reduce accidents and promote road safety.
National President of the Drivers Welfare Club, Comrade Monday Elimigbe, in his address, said the program will roll out across the country, starting with Anambra State.
In his lecture, the Accident Emergency Nurse, Mr. Ndive Vincent Chinedu, taught trainees life-saving techniques and first aid treatment for accident victims.
He emphasized the importance of patience and caution when handling victims to prevent further harm.
Also, the Head of Vehicle Inspection Service, Engr. Achuam MacDonald, urged trainees to be committed, time-conscious, and professional in their duties, maintaining integrity and dignity.
# Igbariam born native doctor, Nmiri Eweilo Okakakwu has sounded a note of warning to Anambra content creator, Okongwu Dibia, to stop using his videos for content.
In a video, Nmiri Eweilo Okakakwu, stated he is going to deal with Okongwu Dibia, if he ever post any of his videos on his Facebook page.
Nmiri Eweilo narrated that Okongwu Dibia took his video and showed another native doctor, asking him about how true some of the things he said in the video is, the other native doctor nullified all the things that Nmiri Eweilo said in the video which revolves around adopting children and sleeping with a lady and her husband.
Nmiri Eweilo warned Okongwu Dibia not to use his video for content again or post his video on his status, he maintained if Okongwu Dibia tries this again, he will come for him and he might not survive what he’s going to do to him.
# The lawmaker representing Ayamelum Constituency at Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Bernard Udemezu, has disclosed the mystery behind his sudden switch from a Soludo critic to a Soludo Apostle.
While speaking in the interview, Hon Bernard Udemezue maintained that contrary to what some people are saying, he wasn’t paid by APGA or any individual to start supporting Soludo. He also stated that his recent support for Soludo wasn’t because he was suspended from the Anambra State House of Assembly, for several months,while acknowledging that his suspension from the house really affected, but that wasn’t his reason for his recent commendation and lauding gestures for Soludo.
Udemezue confessed that Governor Soludo is a competent leader who does things even before they are recommended to him by the Anambra State House of Assembly. Furthermore, he asserted that Governor Soludo has a lot of good ideas and that there is nothing to criticize or check about him and his administration now.
# In line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s directives on zero tolerance to lateness, the permanent secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mr . Tochukwu Obodogha lead an on the spot check of staff of various departments in the ministry and agencies under the ministry.
Obodogha made it clear that everybody must adhere to the directives given by the Governor, that no more lateness to work and that the glory of civil service must be restored.
He maintained that every worker must be at his duty post by 8am prompt, lateness will prompt the worker to face a disciplinary committee.
While addressing workers at Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency (ANSEWCCA),He said that the era of non- challancy to work is over.
