* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze
has led the delegation of elected officials and appointees from Anambra North to the courtesy visit to the Traditional Rulers of the zone at Otuocha, Anambra East LGA,

Rt. Hon. Udeze in his remark, expressed deep appreciation to the royal fathers for their unwavering unity and for consistently providing wise and stabilizing leadership in Anambra North.

Udeze acknowledged their crucial support in his emergence as Speaker and particularly commended them for their earlier visit to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo following his election, describing it as “an act of unity and gratitude.”

He highlighted the remarkable transformation currently being witnessed in Anambra North under Governor Soludo’s administration, from the establishment of five new general hospitals and the employment of 56 health workers from the zone, to extensive road projects including the Awkuzu–Umunya Spur, Anam–Nzam Road, Atani–Ozubulu Road, and the massive infrastructure strides and urban regeneration of Okpoko into a New Haven.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the Environment is one of the key pillars in his administration and having transformed some local council like Okpoko slum to New heaven, Anambra State is are ever ready to partner with the Netherlands

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim during the visit of the Kingdom of Netherlands consular general to Nigeria team, revealed that the Soludo-led administration prioritizes the Environment by providing enabling platform for many recycling hubs to spring up and thrive.

He also noted that the state actually runs a program that involves all communities (179 communitie in Anambra) through the Anambra State Waste Recyclers Association (ASWRA) that encourages people to pick up plastic anywhere and sell to make money (Job creation) promoting circular economy practises while boosting the states economy at the same time

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the good governance which Governor Chukwuma Soludo has continued to provide for the citizenry, evident in the massive transformation being witnessed in all sectors in the State has attracted meritorious recognitions and awards to the Governor from different reputable organizations.

Udeze in his Congratulatory Message to Soludo as the Vanguard Media Organ decorated him with the Vanguard Newspaper Governor of the Year Award, enjoined the citizenry to partake in the joy and gains of Governor Soludo’s administration by giving him maximum support and encouragement through prayers and responsible living.

The Speaker while thanking the Vanguard Newspaper for recognizing merit and hard work which formed major considerations for the Award on the Governor, noted that the Award will spur Soludo to more work and service to Ndi Anambra, whom he said, have benefitted a lot from the purposeful administration of Governor Soludo.

Rt. Hon. Udeze called on ndi Anambra especially well meaning individuals to borrow a leaf from the notable organizations that have continued to honour Governor Soludo by partnering the government for the overall development of the State especially in area of security where the Governor has performed creditably.

* The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been hit by massive resignation of serving party leaders, members and stakeholders across Anambra State.

This followed the events of last Saturday when the party held its governorship primary election.

As of Friday, April 11, 2025, no fewer than six APC local government party Chairmen have resigned from the party.

* Anambra State Service Commanders comprising the Army from 302 Artillery Regiment (GS), the Navy from the Naval Outpost, Department of State Security (DSS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), Federal Road Safety Corps

(FRSC), the Nigeria Customs and Anambra State Vigilante led by the Police in a Close meeting at the Office of the State Commissioner of Police *CP Ikioye Orutugu at Awka unanimously set up a formidable force against crimes

The security heads also intensified its plans to lunch the State code-named Operations Udo Ga Chi – Zero Kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State.

The timing of this operation, coinciding with the Easter season celebrations, underscores the Security Force’s dedication to maintaining peace and security during festive periods and beyond.

In their separate speeches, the Security Chiefs maintained that the initiative aims to prevent all violent and/or related crimes, especially kidnapping, by ensuring a safer environment for residents and visitors during this Easter period and beyond.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has expressed hearty congratulations to Mr. Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, on the occasion of his birthday.

In his goodwill message, Governor Soludo proudly lauded Mr. Iyiegbu, a distinguished son of Anambra State, as a dynamic personality who has consistently embodied the ingenuity, resilience, and entrepreneurial excellence for which Ndi Anambra are renowned.

As an ebullient entrepreneur, his ventures have not only created opportunities for countless Nigerians but have also placed Anambra on the national map of commerce and innovation. His philanthropic endeavours, particularly in youth empowerment and community development, also reflect a deep commitment to uplifting lives and fostering societal progress.

The Governor further stated that beyond his business acumen, Obi Cubana’s role as a cultural ambassador and socialite has celebrated the richness of Igbo heritage, strengthening our collective pride and unity.

* The Kingdom of Netherlands consular general to Nigeria team comprising of Dr. Natalie Beinisch, Mr Opeyemi Oriniowo and Mr baloluwa Dairo visited Anambra state on a two days circular economy scooping mission in Anambra State

According to the Netherland mission in Nigeria team lead, Mr Opeyemi Oriniowo, he stated that they had actually started working on the program for two years and they are in Anambra to support the state to set up Circular Economy that encouraged recycling of waste of all kinds. He expressed that the Netherlands remains committed to supporting transition to a circular economy through private/public sector-led investments and policy support.

Mr Oriniowo stated that by deploying an eco-system approach, the aim of the mission is to engage the government, private-led institutions towards the development of a stronger and interlinked platform that will encourage Net Zero transition while working to build direct trade linkages between the Netherlands and Anambra in the circular economy sector.

* Anambra State Traditional Rulers have reaffirmed their total support to Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Speaking through the Traditional Ruler of Olumbanasa, the Monarchs recalled a communique they previously issued to the media, unanimously endorsing the zoning arrangement in the state and pledging to uphold it.

They further stated that their support for Governor Soludo goes beyond zoning, stating that it is a heartfelt appreciation of his outstanding work, especially the fact that he began his developmental interventions in Anambra North.

The Traditional Ruler recounted that his own community received a tarred road for the first time under Governor Soludo’s administration.

* The mayor of Ekwusigo LGA, Hon. Chimezie Obi has extended warm congratulations to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, on his recognition as Vanguard Newspapers’ Governor of the Year award.

Describing the award as “meritorious and well deserved,” Hon. Obi praised Governor Soludo’s visionary leadership, innovative reforms, and unwavering commitment to transforming Anambra into a livable and prosperous homeland.

He further urged Ndi Anambra to continue supporting the Soludo administration as it advances in delivering good governance and sustainable development across the state.

 

* Students across Anambra State have come together to celebrate and appreciate Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo for his relentless commitment to educational development in the State.

Over the years, Dr. Onunkwo has distinguished himself as a true friend of the student community, investing in scholarships, school infrastructure, mentorship programmes, and various initiatives that have uplifted thousands of young minds across the state.

The students who were led by their leader Comr. Felix Chiemerie Nwachinemelu, chanted solidarity songs for Dr. Onunkwo, hailing him for his continuous support and love for Anambra students.
