* The President General of Isiagu community, Mr. Udochukwu Nnebedum says the community will fully key into and domesticate Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Clean, Green and Sustainable Initiative. Mr. Nnebedum, gave the assurance in Awka during an interview with ANN correspondent. The community leader, while enumerating numerous projects flagged off by Governor Soludo, noted that most of the projects are in the rural areas and grassroot-oriented, thus a yield to the yearnings of the citizens of the state.
* Leadership of various communities in Anambra State have been charged to make security of life and property a priority. The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State Mr Echeng Echeng who gave the charge at Nawgu in Dunukofia local government area during the inauguration of a refurbished security van donated to the community by the Anambra State government described security of life and property as key to sustainable development.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemlili North Local Government Area, Mr. Chuks-Brown Igboanua has expressed appreciation to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for providing enabling environment for Ndi Anambra during this Easter season. Mr. Ignoanua explained that if the environment was not calm for merriment and celebration, people would not have trooped in from across the country and beyond to celebrate Easter, a season he noted is a time for general meetings in many communities in the state. He urged all to join hands with the governor in achieving the green, livable and prosperous homeland of our dream.
* The Member representing Onitsha North 2 State Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly Awka, Hon Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo accompanied by his wife, Mrs Uche Ibuzo visited Onitsha Correctional Center where he celebrated with inmates who are within his Constituency. The visit which is routinely done by Hon Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo thrice in a year, was meant to cater and give moral upliftment to the Inmates and as one of the Corporal Works of Mercy admonished to all Christians.
* It was a celebration of life for Late Matriarch, Mrs Roseline Ifeoma Oguaka at Ojoto community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State recently, who was laid to rest amidst pomp and pageantry. Mrs. Oguaka, a staunch Anglican faithful was buried at her husband’s residence at Ngogwugwu village in Ojoto Obiofia at the age of 90 years.
* The President-General of Nawgu development Union Prince Frank Nwegwu has said the transformation of Nawgu Vigilante group is part of efforts of the town union government aimed at improving the living standards of the people of the community and called for the support of the people of the area to realize the set objectives. Prince Nwegwu, who promised to key into the programmes and policies of Governor Chukwuma Soludo maintained that the Vigilante group of the community will be reorganized while various trainings will be introduced for them for effective service delivery in line with the ideologies of the Soludo administration.
* The National President, Anambra State Association of Town Unions ASATU, Chief Titus Akpudo has commended the efforts of the state government in the implementation of its promise of twenty-five-million-naira Community-Choose-Your-Project Scheme in no distant time. Chief Akpudo, who gave the commendation while speaking to journalists in Awka, said Governor Chukwuma Soludo is determined to engender massive grassroots development through the twenty-five-million-naira community choose your project initiative.
* Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University has earned full accreditation status in the National Universities Commission’s 2022/2023 accreditation exercise held in November and December 2022.
In a memo delivered to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Greg Nwakoby, signed by Architect Ikani, Deputy Director, Programmes accreditation on behalf of the Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission, the Commission revealed that out of the twenty-one programmes that were accredited during the exercise, a
total of twenty programmes had full accreditation status.
* Anambra State Government through the Office of the Hon Commissioner for Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs Hon Tonycollins Nwabunwanne has issued a serious warning to the immediate past president of Oba patriotic Union Rev Chris Afam Emelie to desist from parading himself as President General of the community, affirming that it is only the recently established Interim Town Union Government for Oba Patriotic Union led by Sir Osita Obadi who will run the affairs of the community.
* The Anambra state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Felix Odimegwu has asked Ndi Anambra to imbibe culture of cleanliness and avoid acts that can cause environmental havoc. Commissioner Odimegwu made the call in Awka while speaking on the need for people of the state to key into the clean, green and sustainable Anambra initiative of the Professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration. Mr. Odimegwu emphasized on the need for the state’s residents to see the cleanliness vision as a collective responsibility and not that of the government alone.
