* As part of government’s plan to transform the Health Sector in Anambra state, the Administration of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is set to upgrade three general hospitals every year to meet with international standard. The State Commissioner for Housing, Hon Pauli Onyeka, who disclosed this said, already the general hospitals in Ekwulobia, Enugwu Ukwu and Umueri are wearing new looks.

* Frontline Industrialist, Dr Godwin Okafor has described effective security of life and property as key to sustainable industrial growth and development. Speaking in his office at Agu Awka Industrial Layout on the one year in office of Governor Chukwuma Soludo recently, Dr Okafor said that with effective security which the Soludo administration is working towards achieving, Anambra State will continue to record more industrial growth which will no doubt offer employment to many youths. He described Soludo as a Governor who has through his programmed and policies, raised the bar of governance and called on the people to continue with their support of his administration for rapid transformation of Anambra State.

* A fifteen-man executive of Drivers Welfare Club of Nigeria, DWCN, Anambra State Chapter, has been inaugurated. The inaugural ceremony which took place in Awka recently, featured the flag off of Anambra State Driver’s National Database and Drivers Safety Manifest. The Drivers Welfare Club of Nigeria, is a non-governmental organization, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as well as Ministry of Trade and Investment since 2003, to pursue the improvement of the welfare and the image of Nigerian drivers as well as protect them from social stigma, deprivation and unhealthy conditions of service .

* Anambra state government has restated the commitment of Professor Chukwuma Soludo towards fulfilling all the campaign promises to the state. Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim during a town hall meeting with people of Ogbaru Local Government Area at Onitsha South Council Area Headquarters, maintained that the state government is committed to making life better for Ndi Anambra. He noted that a lot of human capital development have been lined up to achieve the target, including the ongoing “one youth two skills” program.

* Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Adeoye Irelewuyi has thanked the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Awka, Anambra State for its willingness to partner in traffic management and enlightenment. Rt. Rev. Moses Nwakanma who disclosed its readiness to partner with FRSC during a visit to the Command recently, said traffic control in a state like Anambra should not be left for the FRSC alone to handle.

* Igbokwu Community in Aguata Council Area of Anambra state has crowned Chief Alex Azike the new traditional ruler. Speaking after he ascended the throne as Idu The Third of Igboukwu, Igwe Azike called on his subjects to embrace peace, forgive one another of all wrongs arising from choosing the occupant of the traditional stool. He thanked the Anambra State government for championing peace and community development

* Keke coordinator in Anambra, Comrade Osita Obi, a social activist, said most criminals who operated with keke were those who did not register or belong to the body called Anambra Transport Management Code (ATMC). Though he bemoaned the illegal activities of those marauders, he was of the view that no responsible operator with family or responsibilities would be involved in any evil act with his keke when it is registered and could easily be tracked.

* The Archdeacon in charge of Agulu Archdeaconry and Vicar of Saint Peters Parish Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area Venerable Chamberlain Ofonakara has urged Christians to always aspire for the things of the Lord. Venerable Ofonakara in a sermon frowned at many Christians who have left the critical things about christianity and engage in sinful life, advising them to be focused and seek the kingdom of God.
