* Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has expressed profound congratulations to Barr. Allen Onyema, the Chairman/CEO of Air Peace airline, on the monumental achievement of the airline’s successful inaugural flight from Lagos to London on Saturday, March 30, 2024. In a release signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, in his congratulatory message, Prof. Soludo noted that Air Peace’s historic flight, carrying 260 passengers aboard a 274-seat capacity Boeing 777, marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s aviation industry. Suludo commended Barr. Onyema, a distinguished son of Anambra State, for his exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence, Governor Soludo expressed delight that the new achievement reaffirms Air Peace’s position as one of the most successful private airlines in Nigeria and underscores Barr. Onyema’s status as a trailblazer in the aviation industry.

* The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has distributed several goods valued at about ₦10 million to some less privileged individuals in society including destitute from Niger Republic, Moslems, traditionalists as well Christians from different denominations. The items presented to them were clothing, handbags, 300 tubers of yam, 100 bags of rice, 200 coconuts, 10 50k bags of garri, food flasks, transport fares, among others.

* The former aspirant for House of Representatives, Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Christian Ezenwoke has felicitated with Christians all over the world on the occasion of Easter celebration. Chief Ezenwoke in a felicitation message, urged Christian faithful to see Easter Period as a time for sober reflection, during which to pray for the country especially at this time of economic challenges. Ezenwoke admonished Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper at this time of national challenges, stating that with brotherliness, the country will continue to be one.

* The wife of the governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo has reminded mothers the need to eat healthy as they celebrate Easter. Speaking on the topic “Healthy Living For Christ” Mrs Soludo reminded mothers that the essence of Easter celebration is not to consume anything that comes their way during the period but to apply proportion especially as it concerns what goes into their body.
She further enjoined women to prioritize their family’s health especially this Easter season in order to live healthy.

* A Group operating under the platform of United Business Women Association of Nigeria and Diaspora (UBWA) has made a strong case for provision of welfare services and jobs for the less privileged especially at this critical period of biting economic hardship across the nation. The women made the plea through the association’s Zonal Coordinator,
Hon Chinyere Ihejirika, when she led the South East Coordinators on a courtesy visit to the founder and President of the association, Ambassador Nkiruka Duru, in her office at Onitsha, Anambra state. They, therefore, called on those occupying leadership positions to as a matter of urgency initiate and implement life saving measures to rescue already overburdened youths from temptation of negative indulgences.

* In the hunt for gunmen who attacked two Police Stations at Awgbu in Orumba North and Neni in Anaocha LGA in the last two weeks, Police-Led Joint Security Force was ordered by the Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye to identify and destroy any camp being used by insurgents to launch attacks within the Command. SP Ikenga Tochukwu, PPRO, Anambra State Police Command in a release stated that the joint task force had previously destroyed two such camps, one in Ogbunka, Orumba South LGA and the other in Achalla, Awka North LGA.

* Anambra State First Lady Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has expressed worry over the growing cases of drug use among school children. Mrs. Soludo while speaking in Awka when she received staff of the Anambra State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), said it has become very urgent to launch an action-driven campaign to mitigate the sad revelation. She said that all stakeholders should join the campaign to win the fight, given the age brackets of persons involved, and called for closer monitoring by both parents and teachers, to save children from the dangerous situation.

* A pregnant woman, Mrs. Mmesoma Odili, from Umuosiegbo village, Umunya in Oyi local government area of Anambra State, is in a devastating mood following the loss of her pregnancy during eight days of detention at the Zone 13 Police headquarters, Ukpo, Anambra State. It was gathered that the police had to arrest Mmesoma when they could not lay hands on her wanted husband over land dispute in the area. An indigene of the community, Mr. Jude Ikeanyionwu, who said the dispute has torn the area apart, called on the state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and other stakeholders in the state, to intervene in the worrisome situation before it leads to loss of more lives.
