* A Joint Security Team comprising the Police Operatives from Uli Police Divisional headquarters and Uli Vigilantes secured the safe return of two kidnapped victims in Ihiala.

The armed men at Amorka Village, Uli, along Onitsha Owerri Expressway double- crossed the victim’s vehicle, forced the occupants into another vehicle and zoomed off with them. The armed criminals abandoned the victim’s vehicle at the scene. The responding Police team have since recovered the abandoned vehicle to the Police Station for safekeeping.

Meanwhile, the operation is still ongoing to arrest the armed suspects.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has extended season’s greetings and warm congratulations to Christians in Anambra State and across Nigeria on the happy celebration of Easter, which marks the end of the Lent season as well as commemorates the crucifixion, death and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In his reflective goodwill message, Governor Soludo commended Christians for their prayers and consistent devotion to the virtues of sacrifice, solemnity, humility, and spiritual revival exhibited during the Lent.

Soludo also lauded the inspiring significance of Easter’s lessons in selflessness, modesty, hope, renewal and harmony as personified by our Lord Jesus Christ, urging Christians to emulate Christ and take advantage of this season to reinforce the ideals of personal sacrifice for mutual tolerance and peaceful co-existence in our country.

The Governor further emphasized that Easter’s lessons perfectly align with his administration’s vision for Anambra State as a peaceful, livable and progressive society where government policies promote social harmony, economic opportunity, and peace of mind for all.

* The Chairman of Idemili Relief Market popularly known as Nkpor Main Market, Chief Paul Okafor has assured Ndi Anambra that with the rate of massive development across all sectors of the state by the present administration, the African Dubai Taiwan vision for Anambra State will be visible and actualized after Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s eight Years in office as Governor.

Addressing newsmen in his office at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, the market leader said that Prof Chukwuma Soludo deserves more accolades for doing much with less.

According to Okafor, “Governor Soludo is leading us to the promised land. Despite the hardship experienced all over the country Soludo is amazing. He has good management, accountability, not wasteful with the available resources. He has broken records. He has done in three years what some governors could not achieve in 8 years.

* The Police while felicitating with ndi Anambra on the Celebrations of Easter, intensified Security patrols aimed at ensuring that residents/visitors feel safe and to nip to the bud any untoward situation during the Easter holidays and beyond.

During one of such patrols, Men of the Anambra Police Command, rescued two kidnap victims, arrested a notorious cultist/kidnapper, and recovered seven pump-action guns.

The security personnel also recovered
seven live cartridges, three handcuffs, one cutlass, one axe, one dagger and other incriminating items.

* The Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council (ASTRC), His Royal Majesty Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III of Obosi Ukwalla Kingdom) has commended the Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for taking the bull by the horns through the Launching of Operation Udo ga achi/Agu-nechemba security outfit which he said has reduced crime to the barest minimum in Anambra state.

Igwe Iweka while addressing newsmen in his Palace, applauded governor Soludo for the wonderful infrastructural developments put in place by his administration in the state and many other projects across different sectors. He advocated that governor Soludo should be given the chance to complete the monumental projects he has started.

” Our Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo has done much on security, we all know that crime cannot be totally eradicated but Gov. Soludo through his wisdom created this Udo ga achi/Agu-nechemba which we can all see the effects. Crime has drastically reduced to the barest minimum”.

* The Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu has
commended the Nnewi community for their collaboration with security in apprehending an alleged serial rapist Chidiebere Mbene, aged 33 years.

The suspect is allegedly involved in the murder of one Nwokedi Michael Somtochukwu a 15-year-old boy in Unubi, Nnewi South Local Government Area on 15th April 2025.

According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, the suspect also allegedly raped the elder sister of the deceased before he fled the scene.

The CP has directed the immediate transfer of the Case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, for a comprehensive investigation.

* The Chairman of New Auto Spare parts Market Nkpor, Chief Stephen Ofoleh has advised gubernatorial contestants in the Anambra State election coming up in November 2025 to consider using their money to Undertake projects in their various communities instead of wasting their money to contest against the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo

Speaking at his office at Nkpor, Idemili North LGA, the Market Leader said that one of the hallmarks of Soludo led administration include the Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) initiative which is bringing development to various communities urging aspirants to embrace it as opportunity to immortalize their name instead of embarking on the fruitless venture or day dreaming to unseat the Solution Governor who has kept his promises to Ndi Anambra.

According to Ofoleh, Soludo is not contesting with anybody in the coming Anambra Governorship election. I plead with these other aspirants, instead of spending your money for political campaigns use it for PPCP, even if it is one kilometer road in your community because there is no vacancy at Agu Awka”.

* Police Officers attached to Fegge Divisional Headquarters while on patrol, intercepted a bus parked suspiciously along Port Harcourt Road, Upper Iweka, Onitsha.

During a search of the bus, they found a bag of rice containing Five Pump action guns, eight live cartridges and two handcuffs neatly concealed in it. The arms and the bus were recovered, and investigations are still ongoing to unmask the culprits.

* The Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad/Anti- kidnapping Unit acting on credible information, arrested one Israel Akachukwu aged 25 years, recovered two pump action guns, two live cartridges, one Cutlass, one yellow Axe and a dagger in his apartment at Ezeigwe Street Nkpor, Idemili North LGA.

The suspect confessed to being a member of the Viking’s Confraternity and is already working with the Operatives to arrest other gang members.

To this end, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu encourages the good people of Anambra State to be law-abiding, vigilant and security conscious at all times.

The CP also advocates for the emulation of Christ’s humility and selfless lifestyle and entreats Anambraians to use this period of the festivity to pray for the peace and security of the State and the Nation at large.

* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that without resurrection of Jesus Christ, our faith as Christians would have been in vain.

In his Easter Message, Rt. Hon. Udeze noted that through the resurrection of Jesus Christ which is commemorated in Easter, Christians have a new living power to overcome trials and temptations.

Rt. Hon. Udeze stressed that Easter is the season that conveys the highest joy of salvation.

The Speaker who joyfully echoed the ancient Easter phrase “Christ is risen, He is risen indeed, Hallelujah”, enjoined Christians to be spiritually and emotionally connected with Jesus Christ, who he said, has defeated death and sin for our sake.
