* The Managing Director, Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Comrade Celestine Anere has warned residents to desist from the culture of channeling untreated wastewater through the public drains due to obvious health risks to the environment and on humans.
Anere gave the warning while speaking to journalists on the increasing rate of waste water being channelled onto the streets and major roads in the state. The OCHA Brigade boss urged residents to desist from such ugly attitudes in their own interest and in the interest of the environment, while educating residents on the danger of mismanagement of wastewater and sustainable environment.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has described the late former Governor of Anambra State late Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife as a true Nigerian who lived out the true essence of patriotism. Soludo who was speaking at the Commendation service held in honour of the former Governor at the International Convention Centre, Awka, remarked that the late Ezeife, also known as “Okwadike”, was his personal mentor who has been encouraging him all along.

* Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has explained the need for revival of home garden tradition to help families brace the tide. Mrs Soludo who explained this while responding to questions during her engagements with a women group in Awka, noted that traditional home garden practices which were obtained in the past provided a primary alternative to commercial food products which were mostly expensive. The Anambra Governor’s wife, while stating that it is important for households to adopt healthy living as a family culture, stressed that the long-term gains are numerous.

* The Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Anambra Chapter under the leadership of
Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu PhD during its April Congress congratulates the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for resuscitating the water scheme in Anambra, asking the governor to ensure that the scheme is sustained and serves the purpose for which it was revived.

*The remains of the former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife have been laid to rest. Ezeife was laid to rest in his country home in Igboukwu, Aguata local government area of Anambra state. The ceremony officiated by the Salvation Army, had Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Chris Ngige, Peter Obi, Dame Virgy Etiaba, Sen. Victor Umeh, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, the Rt Rev. Samuel Ezeofor, among others in attendance.

* The National President of Ohanézè Ndígbo Worldwide, Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu says the post humour title of “Hero Of Igbo land” on former Governor Ezeife, is a prove that he was a great Nigerian and appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for doing so much to support the Igbo cause. In his tribute, Iwuanyanwu stressed that former Governor Ezeife stood and fought for the unity of Nigeria, based on equity, fairness and justice. He further stated that ndị Igbo regard him as a shinning star which future leaders should have have as a reference point.

* Efforts are on top gear to ensure Anambra products hit the international market while meeting the required and certified standards. One of such efforts is coming from the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, NEPC, Anambra State Coordinating Office with the organization of a one-day capacity building programme on “development of vegetables for export in Anambra State”. During the programme held at Head of Service Conference Hall at the Jerome Udorji State Secretariat in Awka, the NEPC also handed over a set of water pumping machines to Unique Agro Co-operative Society, Amanuke, Awka North Local Government Area to increase their vegetable farming capacity so as to boost the export profile of Anambra State.

* The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim alongside members of Mbaukwu Peace Committee attended the burial ceremony of late Mrs Angelina Onyeali at Mbaukwu in Awka South local government area, Anambra State. Late Mrs Angelina Onyeali was mother of Chairman of Mbaukwu Peace Committee, Barrister Chike Onyeali. While consoling the deceased family, Dr. Ibezim described death as a fulfillment of God’s design for man on earth which was inevitable and beyond human remedy. He noted that the deceased had lived a fulfilled life on earth and gone back to her creator. He expressed hope that God would give her loved ones the heart to bear the pains.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche has mourned the demise of former Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife. In a condolence message Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche described Dr Ezeife as a true icon of the Igbo race who spent his lifetime fighting for justice, and political and social equity; saying that his death has created a huge vacuum in the country. She charged leaders in different social groups in the country to embrace and emulate the legacies of trustworthiness, transparency, patriotism, humility, and selflessness left by Dr Ezeife.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Amaka Obi has visited a prominent and illustrious son of Alor Community, Chief Chiedozie Epi Okoye in his Abuja office. Speaking during the visit, the council Boss, Hon Amaka stated that she is on a mission to engage all the critical stakeholders in the council area for partnership with the government.
She noted that the stakeholders in the council area are important and should be carried along in the affairs of governance and remarked that Mr Governor had earlier called for the Public Community Private Partnership (PCPP) noting that government cannot it do alone hence the need for stakeholders involvement in areas of their strength and capacity.
