* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has called on all party members to always be committed and dedicated in advancing the course of the political party. Ezeokenwa stated this when the member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke, and his entourage paid him a courtesy call in Awka. Welcoming his guests, Ezeokenwa expressed joy with the commitment of the lawmaker to the course of APGA, describing the Nweke as a committed and loyal party stalwart, and urged him to remain loyal and continue working and supporting the party at all times.

* The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) has praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s impactful development efforts, while the Anambra Internal Revenue Service (AiRS) has conducted a joint taxpayers’ education program with CITN titled “Formalising the informal sector: the Economic Benefits”. The event included a lead paper presentation, panel discussion, and a question and answer session fostering robust stakeholder interaction. During the program held in Awka, participants expressed appreciation for the Soludo administration’s renewed focus on tax awareness, highlighting a new era in which government accountability for taxpayers’ funds has significantly improved, leading to more prudent use of resources. 

* A one-day joint taxpayer education and enlightenment program held in Awka has ended with a call for all taxable adults to react positively in payment of taxes to enable the government improve on infrastructural development in the state.

The enlightenment program with the theme, “Formalising the informal sector, the economic benefits”, was organised by the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and attracted participants from Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as representatives of transportation unions, markets, among others.

* The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife former Governor of Anambra State. Ezeokenwa, who was present at the State House Lying-in-state, expressed profound grief over the loss of Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, acknowledging him as a man of wisdom who played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of the present-day Anambra State. Ezeokenwa commended Dr. Ezeife for his unwavering advocacy for Igbo interests and his steadfast commitment to the Igbo cause.

* The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah recently led the Senate Ad-hoc Committee investigating the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) Projects of Nigerian Refineries to an oversight visit to Port Harcourt Refinery. During the tour, which was also attended by officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) led by the Corporation’s Executive Vice-President (Downstream), Mr. Dapo Segun, as well as staff of the Port-Harcourt Refinery led by the Managing Director, Ibrahim M. Onoja.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Amaka Obi has commended the Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for his quick and urgent response to the popular and most connected bridge and road that leads to industrial cities in Anambra. On her visit to the site, Obi commended the workers on their performance and the use of good materials stipulated for such project. She also thank the workaholic Governor on his formidability and unflinching support to the good people of Idemili South.

* Stakeholders on food safety and hygiene, water, sanitation, and hygiene have been inaugurated in Awka.

Inaugurating the committee, the Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is passionate about food safety in the state, as his government is committed to ensuring that Ndi Anambra eat good and safe food that are not contaminated under any guise.

* Chief Executive Officer of a Real Estate Firm First Rotech Group of Companies Ltd, High Chief Chukwudi Oguejiofor Mmuonanu has called on Ndigbo to support President Bola Tinubu. Mmuonanu urged Ndigbo to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu for the all-round development of Nigeria, especially as it concerns South East.

Mmuonanu stated this when he was decorated with the prestigious title of the Grand Patron of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide.

* One hundred and fifty-two drivers, motor mechanics and other technical workers in the Anambra State government have participated in a month-long training, organized by the Anambra State Civil Service to increase their work efficiency and also enable them to attain higher ranks in their careers. The six months training held at the Jerome Udoji secretariat, Awka for Drivers, Mechanics and Technical workers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government, included those at the local government levels. Speaking during the event, the Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe explained that the training was aimed at transforming the participants, even as he appreciated the State Government for organizing the training at no cost to the participants.
