* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called for proactive measures towards protecting the environment. Governor Soludo made the call during a briefing to mark the 2023 World Earth Day in Awka. The Governor who spoke through the Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Engineer Felix Odimegwu said that special event of the day will be a town hall meeting organized by the Ministry of Environment with the theme “Clean, Green and Sustainable Anambra: Taking Ownership, a Community Participation Approach.”
* Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has approved the appointment of Chief Pat Ubajaka as board member – Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) and Chief Evarist Uba: Special Adviser-Trade and Markets. The announcement was made public through Mr. Christian Aburime Press Secretary to the Governor.
* The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, ANAN, has held its second session of Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme and Induction of new members in Awka, Anambra State capital. The three-day programme commenced with a road walk with members led by the Anambra State branch Chairperson, Mrs Nkechi Ofoedu and walked through Aroma junction areas creating awareness for the event.
* The second section of Awka Township Stadium may be used to celebrate the second-year anniversary of the present state government. Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, gave the indication during an inspection visit to the facility, on Monday.
The governor also ordered immediate deployment of earth-moving machines to work on the layout of the stadium facility for subsequent division and allocation of spaces for relevant sporting events.
* Nnewi Concerned Citizens has empowered the security apparatus of Nnewi with five Sienna vehicles, motorcycles and multiple cellular phone. The event, which took place recently at Anedo Hall Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Council , attracted illustrious sons and daughters of Nnewi. In his remark, the Senator representing Anambra South, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah ,who is a member of the community, thanked the group for initiating such a wonderful idea in making Nnewi move forward.
* Harbour Industrial Lay Out, Niger Bridge Head, Onitsha played host to Nigeria’s big time industrialists and manufacturers as they converge on the commercial city. The event is the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN Stakeholders Business and Town Hall meeting with Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
* All roads lead to Nawfia town in Njikoka local government area of Anambra state on Sunday 23rd April, 2023 as His Royal Highness Igwe Amb. Dr. Daniel Ogochukwu Obele (mni) celebrates one year of his ascension to the throne of his forefathers. It would be recalled that things fell apart because the centre could no longer hold since the death of FFBC Nwankwo the former monarch who was so dear to the people; hence mere anarchy was loosed upon Nawfia ancient kingdom and for many years, Nawfia groped in the dark in search of peace, unity and togetherness which the people prayed and hoped for like the Israelites in the wilderness.
* Otu Nkwo Co-operative Society in collaboration with Onitsha Amalgamated Market Traders Union has unveiled a raffle draw for the first phase of its housing scheme project. The official draw held at White House Main Market Onitsha was to select off takers for the hosting facility.
* Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR has approved the appointment of Mr. Christian Chukwudozie Udechukwu as the new Commissioner for Industry. He replaces Dr. Obinna Ngonadi who previously held forth in that position. Following the new appointment, Mr. Christian Chukwudozie Udechukwu’s name has been forwarded to the State House of Assembly for confirmation.
